I was thinking that too.
I just thought you were in quite a rush to get out that day.
And it was just a quick fix.
You are pretty thorough.

That's a liftgate right?
I also kinda figured you might be experimenting with a quick disconnect.
Assuming the gate works...  at night, drop it down for an easy unload of the gennys to put them away at night.

That's kind of another of my issues with Hondas.
Around these parts the Hondas are highly sought after by light finger Louey and his friends.

The thieves don't bother with the champions.
Not worth squat on the open market.
But Hondas fetch $1500.
I know a guy who knows a guy, who knows a guy.... who even takes orders.
Didn't do it  ....  bad karma and such.

I know a guy that had 3 of them stolen over a couple of years.
In a secured storage facility.
Bolted down to the platform.

The last one - They just cut the platform.

Glad to hear your looking at that, in this part of the world you'd never get by a vehicle inspection with a fold down platform like that permanently in that position.  As it would be considered an inadequate rear bumper, and secondly all the rear lighting would need to be based off that rear surface.  I'd suspect you'd want to fold it up with the gens off if you took it in for an inspection.  But then again it might be ok where your at.

I was first thinking of selling the lift gate and then have a new rear bumper fabed up to accommodate the generators. Then I thought, why I already have large rear bumper in sense and I can save some money. Plus I can use the lift gate to remove the generators easily if I need to service them or do what ever. I will find a way to lock down the generators, if somebody is going to steal them, they will always find a way. That's what insurance is for. Right now my big concern is the truck is tilted to the side and back due to the generators weight and the propane tank being filled. I ordered air bags today and hope to have them installed this weekend to resolve the problem. Truck has a little sway the way it is now.

Got the new air bags yesterday (Air Lift 5000), putting them on Monday. I will post some pics before and after to show the difference.

My rule of thumb is at least 36" for any counter top. Bending over all day will wear you out in a hurry

Its 39" high, needed to get over the wheel well. Really like the height for working, plus it keeps people from jumping up on the counter to sit. HEHE.

I was told by a few people to build it higher because of the fatigue on the back.
I know it's going to higher than my kitchen counter, but can' remember what the exact number was supposed to be.

That's funny, when I was looking at a truck last fall that was up for sale, the guy said he specifically had the counter built to the height to just hop up and sit on.
Made sure it could take the weight of 2 people.

Why do you think is was up for sale, maybe because he was sitting on the table. Such a NO NO, one of the quickest ways to run yourself out of business. If I catch a employee sitting on my tables, GONE! So anybody reading this, please don't do that.
