Iowa has GOOD food.

I have not been to Iowa recently or often, and never more than "passing thru", but I don't remember any bad food.

Yesterday, on the radio, some talking jerk who was making fun of a political guy (that I will not mention). He said something like "xxxx is going to Iowa. Nobody goes to Iowa for the food or the weather, so it is just a matter of time before he says that he is running for president". IMO, guys/gals can run or not run as they choose, and Iowa is the starting line, but the news guys who will be out there following the hopefuls (and eating there) should be careful about snarky/untrue comments about Iowa. I'm sure that cafe owners in Iowa have heard rebroadcasts of the quote. Maybe his opinion will get him some actual bad food from POed servers next time he is there.

Iowa has tremendous food!  Anyone who has spent even one day there would know that.

*shrug* Folks can say what they want; I've heard pleeeenty of snark, both in jest and in-jest-but-not-really-in-jest, about Iowa and the Midwest in general since I moved to Connecticut.  To anyone that turns up their nose at the food there, especially without having tried it, I can only say: it's their loss.

You'd probably hear less if you'd stop driving your John Deere to work every day.

Having been an all over East Coaster (from Maine to Fla and in-between) when we moved to Des Moines from upstate NY, I was introduced to some of my now favorites. Mid-west Brats/Pork Tenderloins/Iowa Chops...many great other regional favorites.
