I'm ever so slightly biased here, but I'd say, "Yes."
As for calling ahead, you're correct, you need to place your full food order ahead of time, which acts as a reservation. Say you place your order for 7pm on Saturday. You'd show up no later than 6:45, get your drinks/salad/apps immediately, and your pizza will be on the table at 7pm sharp.
You're also correct about how far in advance you need to call, especially for a weekend. In fact, you should be calling in your Saturday order today ((847) 965-7997
). I'll actually be there today starting around 3:30p, so you'll either be talking to Burt or me when you call. I'll also be there Saturday night to take care of you if this comes to pass. It'll be good to see you again.
Finally, I Googled Soldier Field Hockey to get more info on the event. I don't think anyone who lives here even knows hockey is being played at Soldier Field Saturday. Either I haven't been paying attention, or it hasn't been widely covered by the media. Anyway, you don't say which game you're going to. If it's the early game (Miami vs. Western Michigan at 3pm), you can probably make a reservation for 8pm. Assuming the game doesn't go past 6p, that will give you time to get to your car and drive north to Burt's by 7:45p.
If you're going to the late game (Michigan State vs. Michigan at 7p), you should think about visiting Burt's right when we open at 4:30p, then heading into the city. Burt closes promptly at 10p, so there's no way you'd get there after the second match.
Bonk, Hope we'll see you this weekend. Don't freeze yer butt off at Soldier Field.
