Is Chipotle Mexican Grill still healthy ?

Chipotle struggles to win back customers after the E.coli and norovirus outbreaks. There was a 5% decline in its average restaurant sales. Are you still a Chipotle fan?

Couldn't say. Ate at one once and wasn't impressed. When I want burrito culture "Mexican", I usually go with Qdoba. But I prefer my real deal, local Mexican restaurant.

Still?  I never knew they ever were any more or less healthy than other Mexican restaurants.   The healthiness, or lack of, will more depend upon what you order.

    Build your own entree here.

My burrito comes in at 1355 calories, 140 g of carbs, 63 g of fat, and 54 g of protein. My doctor would be hesitant to approve of that meal, and that was without chips & salsa.

I am not any more concerned with the food borne pathogens at Chipotle than at other chain restaurants.

My burrito comes in at 1005 calories, 116 g of carbs, 37.5 g of fat and 45 g of protein.  Yeah, my doctor wouldn't approve it based on just the carbs alone (only allowed 60 g a meal).

I think the OP is confusing Chipotle's 'Food with Integrity' as 'healthy' which is not always the case.

You may not like CMG ,but get used to the concept. The survivors in the fast food concept restaurants will be a fresh approach to building your order. The public is more educated in organic and fresh and are willing to pay a bit more for it. What these places need are people on the floor watching how food is cooked and how produce is handled. You can't run a more intense food prep and food handling operation without extreme food safety measures. Places like McDonalds could hire someone and have them working a station quickly. Place like CMG need to rethink how food safety can be incorporated much better than it is now. I have a strange feeling you'll soon see the main chicken and beef coming into the restaurant fully cooked. There's to much liability in working with Raw products like they are now.......
