Lunch for group of 10 near Binghamton, NY off I-86

Hi, first post, long time lurker on this board and reader of the book!
We're a group driving from NYC to Ellicottville, New York in January and looking to stop halfway for a delicious lunch.  Preferably something unique to the area, ie Spiedies, Buffalo Wings.

Any ideas of good places near Binghamton, Deposit, Oswego, etc?  I know Sharkeys has been well regarded, but seems like has a lot of negative reviews as of late (not trying to trash the place - never been there!)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Roadfood!  I have never been to Binghamton but a friend of mine was from there and always brought back the marinade for spiedies.  Delicious!  Spiedies are truly "Binghamton" and I think that Buffalo wings can be had just about anywhere.  Have a great trip!

The last time I was at Sharkey's was 13 and a half years ago so I won't be much help. I understand Lupo's S & S Char Pit has authentic Lamb Spiedies. Don't make the same mistake that I did and go to the take out only location
It's not exactly unique but I had an solid antipasto at Cortese when we were in Binghamton this past may for my nephew's graduation. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals too.

Welcome to Roadfood stuntmanmike!  Glad to see you post.

I visited Sharkey's just last year and there was no noticeable decline in quality.  It was as good as ever.  Still, it is a dark bar that might not be for everyone.  What I call atmospheric, others would probably have other adjectives.

A better choice might be Phil's Chicken House, specializing in Cornell Chicken and not far from Binghamton at all.

Thanks for the recommendations and welcome messages!
Wound up hitting Old Union Hotel, great wings, beer, and friendly service.  Would recommend!
