What's the deal with this thread?  I write up posts, hit submit, and they instantly disappear.  My name appears as if I've posted but there is no post.  I've seen a couple other names that have last posted, but no post.

Now that Dez Bryant has signed with the Saints it will be interesting to see what he can do with a QB who has a consistent rhythm and who will hit him in stride and on the numbers.

Turned out Dez can't run at all now.

And that's a shame; a freakish torn Achilles prevents his first chance with a good coach and a great passer.

I hope he still has some of  Jerry Jones' money left.

In any case, it turns out you were spot-on with your assessment of the Cincinnati defense.

....and in a turn of events that would not be surprising at any franchise except for Cincinnati - the DC has (finally, thank god) been fired

Sadly tho, Our new DC? Marvin himself

It didn't take the Saints long to find another veteran: Brandon Marshall.  And apparently they're still interested in Bryant as a possible option for 2019.

Tomorrow night the Bears will play their first significantly meaningful November game in quite awhile when they host the Vikings, and a victory would be a huge step toward a division title.

They still have a lot of work to do but I like the direction they're headed.  They remind me of the '83 and '84 teams: the talent level is rising and a lot of the pieces are starting to fall into place, but they need to get better at winning.  Had they not collapsed against the Packers, Dolphins and Patriots (they had double-digit leads in all 3 games) they'd be 9-0.

I heard an interview where Aaron Rodgers said he hopes to someday be as good as Mitchell Trubisky.

A perfect gift...or should that be a "burfict" gift?

I'll bet the hot sauce is delicious on Cincinnati chili...and the t-shirt's probably a nationwide best-seller.

Condi Rice to the NFL?

Again, she needs to take the place of  that $40,000,000.00/year nut-less, pandering jack-ass in the empty bespoke suit.

You are having a great streak of enjoyment  with the Broncos, the Chargers, and now this:

No doubt, "suck" has been flowing both up the Ohio and down the Mahoning this year.

And I know you would enjoy a repeat of last year's "Week 15"; here's a fond memory for you:

EDIT:  I urge even those who do not find "Pittsburgh Dad" funny to watch the 1:00  3:30 segment of the above; it is truly hilarious - a meltdown worthy of Chevy Chase in the "Vacation" movies.

3-1/2 months ago I wrote:

Probably a pretty fair assessment of yesterday's Bears-Packers game.  Unfortunately the link is dead; it was a loop of Aaron Rodgers throwing down a tablet in disgust.

And 5 weeks ago:

The Bears definitely remind me of the '84 team now, and I can see Jim McMahon wearing this sweater.

well, the PITTSBURGH STEELERS have proven two things this year:
  •  On any given Sunday (or Monday or Thursday) they can beat any team in the NFL.
and …
  • On any given Sunday (or Monday or Thursday) they can be outscored by any team in the NFL.

However, should they somehow slither into the playoffs they are fully capable of "shocking the world".

Before the season Le'Veon Bell already had five years of tread-wear.  As he negotiates a new contract he'll have only added a year of rust and age to the wear.  But, he trusts his rocket smart agent.  Cocooned in his element, at least he is having fun:

Marcus Allen didn't see much playing time his last season or 2 with the Raiders, and IIRC he gave that situation a good deal of credit for his resurgence when he went to the Chiefs.  Since Bell will be just 27 at the start of next season I won't be surprised if he plays at a high level.

Yeah, the Bengals are gawdawful at the moment (and badly injured)

Hopefully awful enough that they will finally let the coaching staff go (more likely, Hue becomes the head coach, and out we go from the frying pan to you-know-where)

To complete my fantasy offseason for the Bengals, Son of a Genius finally steps away for the team entirely

Don't be too hasty, TJ...the Browns once had a head coach whose overall record was under .500 (4 losing seasons out of 5 total) yet he managed to become successful with a different team.

Bill Belichick.

The current Chicago weather forecast for next Sunday's Bears-Eagles game calls for a high in the mid to high 30s with humidity in the low 70s.  Probably not conducive to the creation of fog but one never knows...
