It's a good thing that "suck" can't flow up-river, because
The Queen City BUNGLES are still bungling!

But, I'll certainly miss plays like this:

We dont get praised for tackling with our helmets like Shazier did

We dont get penalties ignored for coaches walking onto the field to incite violence

We dont have coaches sticking their foot out onto the field to "help out" our special teams

We dont have players dancing atop injured players

We dont have a rapist quarterbacking for us

We dont have linebackers trying to break punter's jaws

We dont have players threatening to gun down another team's players for walking into their neighborhood

We dont have fans hanging black players in effigy in our neighborhoods

We aren't the thug fans of the thug Rapistburgers

It may be time to let it rest.

For the foreseeable future, each of your teams is likely to be an irrelevant also-ran. We can all now hail the mighty Cleveland Browns!

That’s funny. The Brown bombers have to sit at the adult table this year.
No more feasting on other perpetual last place losers schedule.

I would not be surprised at all to see the Browns win a playoff game this year, despite the somewhat harder schedule.....though playing 6 games in the (currently) relatively weak AFC North should help some

Have to say, even though I don’t think Trubisky is the answer at qb for the Bears, that if the Lions win 2 more games than the Bears I will be dumbfounded! Still think it will be a three-way race at the top and the Lions will be at the 4-5 win level.

I’m assuming this was pre-Luck retirement?
Because if that’s what they think
anyway, I’m suspect.
And I still think the Browns aren’t nearly as wonderful as the “experts” seem to.

I have hope each year that Tommy’s age will catch up to him and we’ll end up with a Y.A. Tittle on his knees
style photo and Gissie begging him to just throw his daughter off some more cliffs and enjoy middle age.
Some year soon...

Even though they weren't winning much back then, the STEELERS' defense was nasty ...

I am surprised at your use of the term "Brown bombers" in reference to the professional football team from Cleveland, Ohio. To appropriate the racist reference to the late, great world champion boxer Joseph Barrow, popularly known as Joe Louis, as a means to denigrate the hapless Cleveland entry in the National Football League's American Football Conference is beneath you. At least I would have believed it to be beneath you.

My consciousness of boxing pretty much starts with Cassius Clay defeating Sonny Liston and the ensuing Ali/draft story unfolding.
Much like my Y. A. Tittle reference was probably mystifying to many younger.
I already apologized for the unintended sleight.

My goodness, we're all just having fun here.

I remember watching the Gillette Friday Night Fights with my grandfather from the age of five (when they got their first TV).

I got this for my 12th, birthday and devoured it:

At 14 I eagerly anticipated hearing Liston v. Clay on the radio live from Miami.  After, I tore the picture of Sonny Liston looking like he went through a windshield from LIFE Magazine and hung it on my wall.

C'mon, a friendly jab never made anyone grovel.

Humph! Benny Leonard's jabs were never friendly. Neither were the jabs of Barney Ross, and even the Japs on Guadalcanal groveled.

I was referring to the gentle 'ribbing' about Lewis / Louis.

Jabs can hurt, indeed.  Patterson certainly was impressed by Liston's.

I know you were. But as long as we were talking boxing I thought I'd toss in a couple of references to boxers some people never heard of.
