Gotta love the consistency of the NFL...Burfict commits a helmet-to-helmet hit and gets ejected after a video review, while a Patriots player knocks Buffalo's QB Josh Allen out of the game with an HTH and gets to keep playing.  It won't surprise me at all if Burfict gets suspended while the Patriot gets only a fine.

(Disclaimer: I've only seen the hit on Allen, not the one by Burfict.)

It does seem like the rules are a little different for a few teams in the league, like the Pats & Cowboys.

Tune in tonight for (most likely) more of the same on the behalf of the Steelers

(tho neither team will likely amount to much this season either way)

Oh, the attack
by that former Cincinnati GENTLEMAN was one of his standard accidental helmet-aimed hits, and the NFL is expected to slap him with a suspension today. According to ESPN it might even be a season-long suspension.

probably

will the Patriots player receive more than a small fine and a slap on the wrist?

You forgot to point out that your favorite quarterback won't be on the field for the Steelers tonight. Oh, and you forgot to once again make your preposterous,, and disgusting claim that Pittsburgh's Ryan Shazier got away with being like Burfict when he was paralyzed in a game against your Bungles.

the hit that resulted in Shazier's condition was one where Shazier led with his head, as he did many, many, many times in his career

No, TJ. Not for leading with his head. He was suspended for repeatedly violating the rules by purposely attempting to cause serious injury to helpless running backs and receivers. And you know this.

If he had not led with his head on that play and ergo tackled correctly, there would be no suspension

Obviously I was not clear. The first sentence was in response to your claim that Shazier was injured because he led with his head, just as Burfict did. The second sentence was about Bufrfict's career of illegal viciousness.

But you knew that.

Shazier did lead with his head (as he did many, many times throughout his career) on the tackle where he sustained his career ending injury

The Redskins management team calls in their head coach at 5:30 AM to fire him. Was that decision made after an all-night drinking session?

Naw. It was just Snyder poking around in his bellybutton and finding the piece of lint that said "Do what makes you feel good -- and in command."

If it makes any Redskins fans feel better, I do honestly believe the front office for the Bengals is considerably worse; starting with but not limited the man whose sole claim to football fame is that he is the son of a football genius

Growing up a in the DC area and living in VA during the 80's glory years I went to tons of games at RFK...really special. What Snyder and Bruce Allen have done to this organization is a crime. At least I still have the Packers.

With all that money and with the medical advances of all these years I would have thought that the midget megalomaniac would have figured out a way to purchase an adequate manhood.  Oh well, you can't buy class either.

Bengals right on schedule for the first overall pick, outdueling the Dolphins on SoS even despite the Dolphins outright declaration of tanking for Tua

Talented CB Jalen Ramsey wanted out of Jacksonville to some team that could win. Jags sent him to the Rams, but got 2 first round picks & 1 4th round in return. Did everyone win in this deal?

Barry Rozner wrote this Daily Herald column to remember Walter Payton on the 20th anniversary of his death:

Bears fans will get the most out of it but it should appeal to anybody who remembers football from back then.

Well ... I'm going to Buffalo to see the Eagles play the Bills this Sunday.

The Birds have been destroyed two straight weeks and look like a shadow of the Super Bowl winning team.

I'm going to focus on eating well and seeing a couple sites. If it turns out to be a good game with an Eagles win, that will be a bonus.

The Bengals finally did something I like this season - they have benched Andy Dalton

Dont get me wrong - I am a big Dalton fan, and he's a very good person off the field as well

....but....

we're going winless (or nearly so? ~50-50 when we play the actively tanking Miami) this year, and his contract is up in 2020, and the best use of the remaining 8 games of 2019 is to find out what we have in ALL of our younger players, including (but not limited to) our 2 rookie quarterbacks - Finley and Dolegala, both of whom looked fairly good in the preseason.

Kinda sad they announced this on his birthday, but thats typical Bengals front office incompetence for you
