I found this place near me on accident the other night:

Dickys Dogs in Toms River, NJ:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/dickys-dogs-toms-river

It's odd to have something the next town over from me and not know about it all these years. Apparently they've been around awhile, changed owners and names a few times.

Because they don't get the best reviews I opted not to visit. Look at the menu scan on Yelp!.. $5.50 for a plain dog? Then it goes up from there depending on toppings.

Anyway, I've added them to the NJ Hot Dog Map.

Jay, Hiram's in Fort Lee is even better-same hot dogs, only bigger, and they toast the buns and use the terrific Admiration brand mustard.

Has anyone ever been to McCobb's? I came across this by accident today and they've got a Texas Weiner on the menu:

I know they don't "specialize" in hot dogs, but who knows maybe their sauce is fantastic.

Has anyone ever been to Manny's Texas Weiner? I went out for dinner with some friends. We had taken two cars. On the way back to meeting up with them to play board games, my friend and I spotted Manny's. I knew about it, but have never been there.

The Texas Weiner sauce was very good. I asked if I could get some on the side to taste it on it's own.

I've had Texas Weiner from a bunch of places, and this ranks as one of the better ones if you ask me. I'm not counting that whole "northern NJ" style where they say Texas Weiner, but it's some brown ordinary chili. I'm talking the greek chili.

My favorite is J&G in Dunellen, Manny's might be #2.

Yuppicide, not a fan of McCobbs. They sell their sauce which is strangely red and tastes like pasta sauce. Out of 8 of us that went for the S.W.A.T Team only Pete Genovese liked the sauce.
As for Manny's, I've been there many times since I live close by and the dogs are good. Funny you bring up J&G. George the owner and Manny are brothers.

Wow! No wonder I like the sauce so much. I'm going to have to ask George the next time I'm at his place.

My friend was driving down Park Ave in Plainfield and right past the police station saw a sign for hot dogs. Looked like a new Peruvian place.

Anyone have any info? I Googled but didn't find anything. I see a police station, but not on Park Ave.

There is a new hot dog place opening in East Windsor, NJ. I do not have any other information to give out other than the address. I was driving home tonight and saw a sign. Look at this:

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.2467062,-74.5704881,3a,58y,314.06h,87.2t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sGONiqJpgMUobdbYwv-d2IQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

You should be facing Fireside Pros. I think they moved. To the left there is a lease sign.. that area now houses a sign that says "hot dog spot" or something coming soon.

If I get a chance I'll go home that way one night this week and try to peek in the window and see if there is any building. I always mention our hot dog map / forums.

EDIT: I drove by yesterday.

I sliced my finger open Wednesday, so Thursday I had to take a different route to work to get some band-aids and antibiotic cream.

Anyway, it's pretty empty on the inside. The front window is free of obstruction, so you can see right in. Driving by I saw one round table, but didn't see much else. Must be awhile before they open.

New hot dog place I found in South Plainfield, NJ. Little Nicky's Italian Hot Dogs. You can get your dog boiled, grilled, or fried. You can also get sausage, or just a potato sandwich if that's what you like. They make their own chili and say it has some kick to it.

I would have stopped, but I had just eaten close to two pizzas with a friend.

https://www.facebook.com/LittleNickysSouthPlainfield/

I will add them to the map now.

I am taking a trip today and found this. I probably won't go there today, but it'll be on my radar:

Spicy Texas Wieners-franks with garlic and 3 kinds of hot paprykas:

When I die, you'll see me standing in a corner in the store because this is what I envision heaven looks like.
I can't imagine the crowds they get during the holidays.

I forgot to take pictures, but I went to Little Nicky's in South Plainfield. I kept imagining Adam Sandler coming out from the back.

The inside has 6 or 7 tables. It's sunny inside. The walls are painted like a car theme (red) with diamond plate on the bottom. He wants to hold some car shows, so he's keeping the top empty for pictures. The chairs are aluminum so they're very light. There's printed menus as well as a larger one on the wall. A few drinks in bottles and a TV playing.

I think he said he's originally from Elizabeth, but has been living in South Plainfield for 10 years now. He couldn't find the food he likes so he brought it here instead of driving so far.

Sabrett hot dogs. Calandra's pizza bread fresh daily. You can get your hot dog boiled, grilled, or fried. You can also opt for sausage or a combo. You can even get a sandwich with just potatoes if that's what you want. The potatoes were one of the best I've had. Not dry, moist, good amount of salt. I enjoyed them a lot.

They also had hot dogs on buns as well, if an Italian Hot Dog is not your thing.

I also tried potatoes on the side with chili and cheese. The chili was alright. I'd eat it again.

Someone on Yelp! commented how Tommy's in Elizabeth is much better than Little Nicky's. I have not been to Tommy's, but I have been to Tommy's South when it was open. It was in North Brunswick, NJ. It was owned by the Son. The potatoes were dry and not salted much. He also made pizza there. He didn't last long. His crust was great, his Italian Hot Dogs, not so much. If Tommy's is like that, I have no interest in going.

Tommy's makes the best Italian Hot Dog. It isn't even close.
