Old Coke bottles

Remember the old Coke bottles that had the city where they were made stamped into the glass. You could throw those suckers out a moving car window and half the time they wouldn't break.
I remember finding one from Hong Kong, I'll bet some people have great collections of them!

I have one in my cupboard. I picked it out of a lake cleaning the pump out for a water slide in 1986. I don't collect much of anything, but for some reason some things end up hanging around.

As far as throwing them out the window (I'm going to get in trouble now), have you noticed you mostly see Mountain Dew cans on the side of the road? And not many Diet Coke cans? I think some college kid could base an entire study on the subject.

I have a bunch of old coke bottles with different locations stamped on the bottom. Mostly from Hawaii, Nevada, California, I think. I haven't looked at them for many years so my memory escapes me.

My dad used to own a neighborhood grocery store and I started collecting old bottles just before canned sodas came out. Those were the days when he charged a deposit for the bottles and wooden cases and people would bring back the empties when they bought a new case.
