Pie At Henry's

Cherry and strawberry rhubarb pies at Henry's in West Jefferson, Ohio. Both good, but not what it used to be.

I think their pies are very over rated.  I have never had a great piece of  pie there.  The last time I was there, there were 6 of us and only one person thought their pie was outstanding.  My daughter in law and I make much better pies.

I did have a great slice of coconut-cream there.

Is Henry's definitely under new ownership with different pie recipes?  I'll probably be going by that way during my major roadtrip next year. I had been planning to spend the night in that area to get to Henry's early for a full pie selection the next time we visit our friends in Indiana. But there is no point in doing that if the pie isn't what it used to be. I'd rather drive on to Dayton and have dinner at the Pine Club our first night.

Absolutely under new ownership. I have no idea whether the pie recipes are new, but either way we don't even slow down when driving by.

It saddens me to have to report that the pies we've tried on a couple of visits since the new owners took over have been nothing more than ordinary. Frankly, you could do better buying pies at the supermarket.
