Didn't know they were expanding. Franchise, or does Pink's own it?

Have to say that Pink's was our biggest disappointment on our SoCal trip.  I think they're surviving on publicity and hype.

Clearly, whoever prepared that abomination cut him or herself in the process and bled all over it because no self respecting human would ever put ketchup on a Hot Dog.  In fact, blood would be preferable to ketchup.

That dog doesn't look too good. That said, I grew up having ketchup and mustard on my chili dogs with cheese. That's just how they served them on the Coast. And they were fantastic! I still make them that way and they're still fantastic! Now, all that garbage they put on 'em up there in ChiTown? Yuck!

I believe ketchup is permitted on a chili dog when the chili has plenty of beans (as all good chili does).

The Pink's that opened in Lake Delton, WI last year is actually inside Noah's Ark Water Park, which means that in order to try a Pink's dog I have to pay park admission.  That would be an expensive hot dog!

Only thing Pink's is good for is a photo-op in front of the sign to say you've been.

Don't eat the food.

Even worse, that looks like BBQ sauce.  Looks a bit too brownish for ketchup.

You would be hard pressed to find beans in hot dog chili inmost of the South. That's just not done. It's eather meaty or smooth. And that's how we like it! Beans? Yuck!

Once upon a time in Gulfport, MS there was an absolutely best of its kind hot dog joint called "The Dog House, Jr". Best chili dogs on the Coast! And no beans!   Nowadays, I would have to say that the best chili dog on the Coast belongs to the venerable old "Dew Drop Inn" in Mobile. Hands down one of the best dogs I've ever had, anywhere! Just look at that! And those rings! Pink's couldn't hold a candle to that! Look at that meaty sauce! Mmmmm.

That's a small dog, however!
