It would be really great if the Pirates were playing at home that weekend.  PNC Park is beautiful!

And she shot that from the Pirates' side of the field, where she made me sit while those people beat the Giants. She is so unfair.

Sounds awful. Will I be safe if wearing my Expos gear at that park?

Sure. I hardly got any grief at all because of my Giants ball cap. Well, except from Lisa.

You will find that Pittsburghers are some of the most friendly people you will ever meet!  You can wear Expos gear all over the city.......nobody will harass you!  In fact, they'll even ask you questions about Canada.  You're going to love it!

Sorry to cause concern folks. Just kidding around about being worried. I figure if Michael Hoffman can get through a game unscathed, I should be fine.

Jen and I are really looking forward to the Pittsburgh crawl. Neither of us has been there before.

The Nagles know we're a bunch of snarks; they did the CSD/IB Crawl in Chicago.  Besides, them Canadians can hold their own when it comes to giving you the rib.  Rest assured the Nagles, and their Canubian brethren know how to have a good time.

I spent my 4th with a bunch of canucks, between the food, the DRINKS, and the music, I got home this morning at 5am.  YES the Canucks know how to party, the pub they were playing at closed at 1am so we sat in the outdoor patio and talked, sang, ordered pizza and they drank and drank.  The cops stopped by after craig was wailing on the bagpipes at 3am.  They didnt say anything, but sat there with us for a while.

I'll obviously show up to meet you fine people, and if I can be of any help organizing, please let me know.
Josza's is a great centrepiece to build around. I spent a summer teaching English in Hungary many years ago and Alex is not only a fascinating host, but the food is probably better than much of the stuff I ate then (though that was admittedly just before the Wall came down).

The Conflict Kitchen, err, conflict, is easily resolved. I think it's great, personally, but agree that it's not really either roadfood or typically Burgh. But it's a short walk and, this being Oakland, slightly longer drive from the Dirty O so those who wish to eat heart-disease fries (which really *are* as good as people report them to be) and those who want to eat communist gruel (most of which, despite its obviously provocative nature, is just as good) can happily co-exist. It's also a short walk in the other direction to the Union Grill which isn't outstanding but has a very Yinzer streak running through its menu (including a not at all bad, and increasingly hard to find, Turkey Devonshire).

Can't wait for the reunion of Mike and The Canadians, Next Stop Pittsburgh.

So I think Pittsburgh, and it brings to mind another 'burgh--Gettysburgh. I hear they have a pretty awesome 'ghost tour'. Going to check to see if Pittsburgh has something similar.

Michael and Lisa and Cliff, you promise I won't get beat up for wearing my beautiful blue Anthony Rizzo jersey? (Or beautiful black Buster Posey jersey, depending on which game we see)

I have heard very good things about a Pittsburgh ghost tour. It was one of the activities that I was going to suggest, although I know it isn't for everyone. You wear any baseball jersey you want and it will be fine. Chances are, you won't hear a negative comment from a local all day.

If you're wearing a Buster Posey jersey I shall personally stand guard, but it's Pittsburgh and the natives, while restless, are really very nice.

The only Pittsburgh ghost tour I've been on has been the Spirits of Old Allegheny tour, but as far as I know, that's only in October.

A quick web search found http://www.hauntedpittsburghtours.com, which seems to be available at Crawl time. But I have no personal experience.

More specifically, I know a Blackhawks fan who got beat up by a bunch of Flyers fans in the men's room at the Wells Fargo center.

Hmmmm ghost hunting in the burgh sounds like fun.  I stayed in Gettysburg at the Battlefield B n B and took pictures of the room I had.  In the pix is an avg height male with slouched hat shadow by the window.  I also saw a mist in the same spot later that night.

I also got to spend Halloween night in Waverly Sanatorium about 6 years ago.  YES that place is haunted.

I would be up for a ghost crawl

Mike and the Canadians have really caught on, haven't we? I'll be visiting with them middle of October while in Canada with my lady friend.

If you all are really lucky you'll get a chance to meet her as well in Pittsburgh next year. You should be so lucky :-)

I was thinking of Bryan Stowe @ Dodger Stadium when I was thinking about the jerseys.

I know a ghost crawl might not sound like everybody's cup of tea, but we did the one in the Third Ward here in Milwaukee for my birthday a few years ago, and if you enjoy history, you would like a ghost crawl.
Milwaukee's is a 2-2 1/2 hour walk around the Third Ward with a LOT of stories about the factories and buildings that used to be down there. It was very interesting, and it's always good to try and get in a non-food stop so everyone can digest/nobody hits the wall.

Donald, there is an old plantation in LA that my friend wanted me to spend the night there, his other friends were too chicken. It has been on shows on Investigation Discovery but I can't think of the name. Myrtles? Have you been there/heard of it?

Mike, sounds good! :D
