That's an interesting name for a café. Reminds me of leechef's Bait Shop and Sushi Bar.

Get it right.  It was Bait, sushi, auto repair, liquor store, guns and ammo.  In New Hampshire.  On the way to North Conway, to be exact.

Anyone have any suggestions on a good lunch spot around I90/80 and the Indiana/Ohio border?  That's probably about where we'll be around noon on Thursday.  Nothing too crazy- wanna have room for the party food!

On the drive to Chicago last year, we stopped for a very good lunch at the Village Inn in Middlebury, IN. We've also had a good meal at Schmucker's in Toledo, OH. Either of these should be only about 10 minutes off I80.

Check with buffetbuster.  IIRC there's a nifty little Hamburger stand in that general vicinity, maybe Ft. Wayne(?).  Another Roadfooder from that area turned him on to it and Cliff was duly impressed.  Toledo has a strong Middle Eastern population, giving it plenty of good Mediterranean eats.  Also, Tony Packo's for Hungarian.

We're planning to stop in Cleveland for a bite, which will provide far more options.

That is quite a deal CNW!  I consider the Marriott the best hotel in the area, with an ideal location.  Others who are staying in the area should also look into this.

I mentioned earlier that my office manager was going to attempt to get a corporate rate at a local hotel.  Unfortunately, her mother has been very ill and she has taken quite a bit of time off.  I'm not going to pester her with that right now.

Having said that, ChiTownDiner and billyboy seem to have gotten the best rate in town.  Unfortunately, that rate also comes with seeing me in my pajamas!

Just keep the pajamas on this time!

HAHAHA!!!  I'll have to see if I can locate my Tigger PJs and doggie slippers!  Maybe we'll get a "BOY DANCE PARTY" started!
http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-live/video/boy-dance-party/n41903  (That's right, the video is back up!  Get yer dancin' shoes on!!)

So, how have the rehearsals been going? Do you have a theme? Maybe "Will dance for food". 😆

Oh, you thought I was kidding? Deep fried donuts stuffed with Krab and Avocado , served with eel sauce. It's the latest "hipster" trend.

I'll check with Cliff, but Fort Wayne is an hour each way off 90/80.  And that other stuff takes too long.  I want a cute cafe with good pie that's within 15 minutes of the highway and I'll be in and out of in 45 minutes.

Sorry for the delay in responding. It took this long for me to stop gagging. I think I'll skip hipsterism and stick with beat.

While the temps look pretty good, the forecast for rain dominates the 6 day extravaganza.  Better pack your FWG = Foul Weather Gear and make sure Sandra has her large umbrella to keep you dry!

Buffetbuster and Wanderingjew, about a half dozen of us have tix and will be catching the Pirates - Reds game on Friday evening.  I wanted to get your input as to whether there is any food/drink worth checking out at PNC Park.  I looked at the listings on the park website and nothing really jumped out at me.  Of course, after chowing down with some of the most epic Roadfooders I know, I may not have any real estate left in my stomach and this all may be a "moo" point (you know, a cow's opinion.  It doesn't matter.  It's moo.).

I haven't been to PNC Park often, but I'm willing to offer an opinion without having real facts to back it up. (In this I am like many other people on the internet.)

I don't think there's anything that you really must eat at PNC Park. If you're feeling full, save your appetite for post-game Primanti's without regret.

If you're committed to eating at the park, here's some things that caught my eye:
The "pulled pork pierogi stacker" is something I've had at games. It won't be the best thing of the weekend, but it's got a Pittsburgh flavor and it suits a baseball game in the same way that a beer I might not normally enjoy can seem just right for a baseball game.
BRGR is a newish restaurant in Pittsburgh with fancy burgers. Pretty tasty, but I don't know how well that translates to the ballpark.
Several of the menu items for the Rivertowne Brewing Hall of Fame Club looked like they would be pretty good. Rivertowne is a microbrewery with a few locations in the Pittsburgh area; in general I would say that I like them but don't love them.

My favorite at PNC Park is Manny's BBQ.  It's a little out of the way...Under the left field seats, but worth the walk!  It's owned by former Pirate catcher Manny Sanguillen and he frequently sits at the end of the line to chat with customers.

ChiTownDiner, while I question her assessment as I've never actually heard it myself, Dayna swears that I snore and quite loudly, too.  Just wanted to let you guys know.  I don't sleepwalk but how do you feel about night terrors?

I am making the kinds of cookies I make for my friends & family's weddings. And my special Christmas chocolate chip cookies, because Ralph really wanted those.

6 days?  that's still a long ways off. We start our trip in 2!

I don't know why you're going to West Virginia. There's nothing to eat there besides Hillbilly Hamburgers and hot dogs with slaw on them.

Country Ham, Chicken n' Dumplings, Baked Steak, Brown Beans and Cornbread- all local specialties, oh, yes and those hot dogs with slaw on them (well, I'll be doing those, Sandra certainly won't) oh, and who can forget those fried bologna sandwiches!

Don't forget my favorite, Hound's Ears.
