The idea of you leading us on a tour of the Nationality Room is a great one.  We should follow it up with a stop at Dave & Andy's for ice cream!

I was the first customer for Dave and Andy's, back in the early 1980s. I actually waited for them to open the doors that first day. Nice guys.

Are there dates set yet? If not, Mrs and I would like it to not be at the end of the month, that is the only time I cannot take vacation. Otherwise, I'll take as many days as the crawl requires. It would be nice if it coincided with Pirates baseball, and perhaps we could sample the wares at PNC Park. I have an "in" with the group sales at the PBC, I can get 10% off the already discounted group seats.

Regarding dates, nothing set in stone.  pnwchef has indicated that he, Joyce and Mollie would be able to attend if it was after June 16 when Mollie gets out of school.  So I guess we'll have to see what dates would fit the most people the best.

Does this mean that if we sample wares at PNC I have to eat an Augustine's pizza with MetroplexJim?

Good stuff Ralph!  As a teetotaler, I would have never thought of the tour of Wigle Whiskey, but it sounds like a great idea.  And, no doubt the only way for us to visit some of the places in The Strip is to split up, unfortunately.

I'm not much of a whiskey drinker myself, but I enjoyed the Wigle Whiskey tour. (Though I've done it twice, so I might try harder to make the Parma Sausage tour happen.)

I thought the 2 things you never want to see how it's made are sausages and legislation.  Personally, I'd love a tour too.

I definitely do not want to see legislation.  But, prosciutto, salami, pepperoni, Coppa Secca, pancetta........oh my goodness!!  In a cooler surrounded by those beautiful salumi!  WOW.

Hey Lisa, We are only three people, three really nice people mind you. See what dates work the best for the majority and will see if we fit in..........Mollie's last day in 2016 is June 10th........I would try to fly out that day.....

With that in mind, I am now proposing the official Pittsburgh Crawl Friday June 17 and Saturday June 18.  We will definitely have dinner together Thursday June 16 and some kind of brunch/lunch June 19.  This format worked really well in Chicago.  Those of us that were in town Thursday eve got together for dinner, crawl Friday and Saturday, pizza at lunch on Sunday.

This is just a suggestion.  We would like to have as many Roadfooders as possible participate!!  Let us know your thoughts.

Again:
Dinner   Thursday, June 16
Crawl     Friday June 17
Crawl     Saturday June 18
Lunch     Sunday June 19

Well, it won't pose a problem for me, but I think Sandra really wanted go  on this one and was hoping to visit relatives in Lancaster along the way however her son is going to be a senior in HS next year and I suspect graduation will likely fall around this time of year. (we just would have done one of the two crawl days anyway) but then again majority rules, however I think most of us were hoping for sometime in May

As I said, we would only be attending either friday or saturday so I certainly  wouldn't want to hold anything up if that's the chosen date. We can always plan to visit Pittsburgh another time. Personally I think it's too early to propose a date a year in advance (even I don't plan that far in advance)

I believe the same time frame as this year's Chicago crawl would be best for the Nagles. Mid June should not pose a problem though, just more people looking for vacation time at both of our places of employment as summer approaches. Whatever weekend is chosen we will do our damnedest to be there for the whole weekend. Even if we have to learn to speak 'yinz'. 😀

Speaking 'yinz' is easy.  Practice this and you'll be all set for next year in Yinzerville.
1.  How're yinz doin?
2.  Yinz wanna come over for a BBQ?  (This means hamburgers and hot dogs.)
3.  Yinz ready to order yet?
4.  Yinz got pie?
5.  Yinz goin to the Buccos game?

In place of 'yinz' you can always say 'youze guys'.
Hope this helps.  See ya in da 'Burgh!!!!

Seriously.
I've read most posts but not every single one and there was much discussion back and forth on the dates and I lost track. I wouldn't think it's next week but maybe I missed something. I'll take your sarcastic answer as meaning it's next year.

Nah, all she wants this year is some walleye and perch at the Jolly Roger in Port Clinton, Ohio. After last year's birthday party at Chubby's this will be quite a comedown.

For those who enjoy planning in advance, the Pittsburgh Visitors Guide might be a useful tool.  I'll probably wait until next year to order so that I get the 2016 version.

If a Pirates game does fit in to the weekend, Mrs. C and I will most likely stay within walking distance of PNC Park.  As an added bonus there's my kind of place nearby...
