acer2x Can I upload pics directly from my android smartphone?
If you are talking about these message boards, no. You have to do it by uploading to a hosting service and then you reference the file in a message via BBC code. It is all covered in this thread. This is not Facebook or Twitter where you can directly upload. Most independent message boards are like this. There are some like Pizzamaking.com where you can directly upload and it is called add attachments. I can't speak directly in regard to Android as I use the iPhone. I do directly upload to Photobucket with the Photobucket app and then copy the image url and paste it into a message here. In that regard you can post pics with a smartphone but it is a tedious process.

Adding a new item - I used to store my photos directly on the Roadfood site as an insider member, and then post to the forums for there. Does anyone know where to find that with the new site mapping?

So apparently Photobucket now wants me to pay $400 a year for the privilege of posting my photos on Roadfood, I think they've already blocked a bunch I've posted. Does anyone have suggestions on other sites that are free that will host photos allowing posting to 3rd party sites?

ChrisOC attempting to post a photo from Flickr https://www.flickr.com/gp/149434125@N07/90b8H8
ChrisOC, I have jpegs saved in my pic files...I use dropbox. When you are on the flickr home page up in the right corner is a cloud icon..it is the upload button...when I hit that it ask me to choose photos in blue. I don't use the drag method. When I hit the blue bar, it brings up my photos saved in my file and I then choose what I want. Then in the bottom lft corner of the pic you can enlarge it. Then rt click on pic and hit "copy image address". If it is too big you can resize in your file area. I hope this helps.

Try adding at the end. No spaces between any of it. But the URL has to be a hosted link.

Chris, that isn't the proper link. It takes you to your Flickr page but it isn't the link for boards. It looks delicious, by the way. I'm not sure about Flickr but Photobucket and the other sites that host pictures offer a few URLs for different applications. Thumbnail calls it hotlink for forum or direct link for forum or something like that.

As an added addendum, Chris, you might try getting rid of the "s" in https. Lots of boards will not accept the more secure protocol for images or videos.

HELP!!! Someone posted a site where you could easily host pictures. It wasn't photobucket and it wasn't Flicker. I had it bookmarked on my menu and it totally disappeared with the latest Foxfire update. (Grrrrr) Hope someone can help me! You just uploaded the picture and it gave you an assortment of different URLS. THANK YOU! NEVER MIND. Found it on a different browser: https://postimages.org/

I was actually replying to the post above yours (that's the pic bwruland unsuccessfully tried to post). Sometimes I forget this forum runs much slower than the (non-food related) forum I'm used to posting on.
