Have any of you used one of these?  I love mine!

Uh, what is it?

At first glance it looks to be a '70's-era birth control device!

How you see a birth control device is beyond me!    Let's say you're making mayonnaise.  You whisk with one hand while drizzling the oil in with the other.  The bowl moves all over the counter.  You put the bowl in here and no movement.  The bottom suctions onto the counter.  Birth control?  Really?  You have quite the imagination!

Jeez, all I said was 'at first glance'.
Never had a Rorschach Test.
Probably a good thing.

Now that you have explained the function, it makes perfect sense.

I'll show this to W.  Thank you (and Mar).

I also use mine on top of a pot for a double boiler.  Don't like putting glass right on to the hot metal.

It's bi-directional!

I don't use a double boiler any more.  But when I did, I used one of my stainless bowls.  Now I melt chocolate in the microwave and if I make béarnaise or hollandaise I just do it right on the burner.  I used to make a 36-egg yolk béarnaise every night.  No time for a double boiler.

The only time I use a double boiler any more is if I'm dipping truffles in chocolate (keeps it hot so I don't have to keep microwaving) or if I'm making what we've always called kidney bean rabbit but which is actually a variation of Welsh rarebit. I've got the double boiler pan that came with my set of pans, but I also bought one a few years back that's double walled instead of having two separate pans.

I've never seen that bowl stabilizer, and now that I have I want one. Badly! I'll have to let the guy know so next time he's at the kitchen store he can pick one up for me. I am discouraged from buying my own gadgets now since he has this need to send me random presents quite often.

Felix, I love your guy!

For the Staybowlizer you need a flat surface.  It didn't connect to my tiled counters.  A breadboard or cutting board works.  Does anyone other than my mother call them bread boards?  I wish I still had one.

Oh... it also works well under a Kitchenaid stainless bowl.

I thought it was some kind of collar device to keep you from biting people who were tasting your food, while you were cooking...

Shoot, if that were the case, I would have a dozen of them for MH every time he comes into the kitchen while I'm cooking......wants to taste everything!  But it would have to come equipped with some kind of trap door so he couldn't be tasting anything!

My mother still has not taken her My Pillow out of the box (she's like that, I don't get it, either), but this popped up on local news a couple of days ago...
BBB revokes MyPillow accreditation

And yes, mar, I got a good one this time! Lucky for me it wasn't over with summer.

I hate those My Pillow ads. They must hold a record for running the same ad, so many times! Lucky for me, MSNBC and Fox News now run their ads at different times, so when the My Pillow ad comes on, I just switch to the other news.

Those ads have come at a cost for them. They are now rated F by the BBB, have been sued for them and are still being sued for the ads in other places. They've also been sued for misleading health claims.
http://www.wthr.com/article/bbb-downgrades-my-pillow-to-an-f-rating
http://www.consumerreports.org/my-pillow/my-pillow-health-claims-lawsuit-settlement/
They didn't even rate that well with Consumer Reports.

Ooops. Didn't see Felix's link to the BBB story in the quote. Ignore that one.

I just "inherited" a gorgeous Staub cast iron dutch oven. It is an amazing, heavy piece of art but it's going to last forever. I use it for everything. Very easy to clean up.

I have a LeCreuset Dutch oven that I love.  It's heavy when empty and even worse when full!  It was one of my first Christmas gifts from MH and has been used hundreds of times.

So would anyone be willing to give up their chef's knife for one of these things?

I gave up my chef's knives years ago for a santoku. I like the heft a lot better. As for the Samurai...I don't see one of those coming into my kitchen. If it's dishwasher safe it will lose its edge and I don't see how that can be sharpened. Then again, I have an original Miracle Knife I picked up 25 years ago and it works as advertised. Use it mainly as a bread knife, as it's edge just isn't up to better work.

I have a santoku which I use a lot but also have my chef's knives that I use.......along with many other kinds of knives.  Depends on what you're doing.  I do NOT, however, have a Miracle Knife!

Cold weather plays havoc with my arthritic thumbs.  This can opener is so good that I bought one for all of the older family members.  I hate electric can openers and even though we have one I won't use it.

I've only found it online or at restaurant supply stores.  It's quick and so easy to use without hurting my hands!

The also have them on Amazon...  Swing-A-Way 6090 Easy Crank Can Opener

Yours is NOT a product!  It is a website and it stinks!  I looked up 4 areas I am fami.ar with and you listed all chain restaurants.  In the areas that I looked up. there are many wonderful local "Happy Hours" which you did not list.  Do you get paid to advertise all these darn chains?  You, my dear sir, are SPAM!

Nothing better than FF-ing through all the My Pillow commercials!
