RF Banner Ad "Vermont Grass Fed Beef"

Today some of you may have seen the banner ad for "Vermont Grass Fed Beef". I clicked on it. Being the only beef eater in my house, I didn't order any, but was interested in the statement that a whole side of beef, cut and vacum packed for the freezer was less per pound than average quality hamburger at the local supermarket.

you only get 50 to 70% yield from a beef half so the price per lb is around double the quoted price. the leaner you want your beef cut  93 7 vs 80 20 and steaks with little fat on edge vs 1/4 to 1/2 inch trim will cut the yield closer to the 50% range. Plus you get a lot of hamburger.

I clicked on another banner ad, this time for  Ibericao, acorn fed, Spanish ham. They are only $995 each, and shipping is free for the Christmas season. Don't want to spend $995? You can get 3 oz of loin for $30. I expect that most of these are sold as biz gifts.
