Mrs MFL aka Beth is making deviled eggs which might leave JRPfeff out as he is such an angel.

I'm toying with the idea of chiltomate.  Especially since Abe's got the chips covered.

Go for it!

Right now it burns and the balance isn't quite right, but a night in the fridge might help.  Or maybe it'll just kill us all.

Ooh, Jonestown all over again.  Gonna make us drink the chiltomate Reverend Jim?  IIRC, we'll even be under a big tent...

The longer it sits, the hotter it is going to get. Had chili turn on me this way several times.

Please bring a homemade side-dish to share (or adult beverages if you are culinarily impaired).

Mrs. C and I just mowed for about 45 minutes and it's already getting nasty outside.  I'd say that on a day like today, bottles of cold water easily qualify as adult beverages.

However, just to put a bug in your ear...vodka lemonades made with grilled lemons.  Think about it.

Great to see everyone and meet some new people. Very VERY good food today. Who brought that stuff that looked like pumpkin? It was DELICIOUS.

Even though it was a hot, sticky day it was a great party.  Thanks to JRPfeff and Pie Diva for hosting and doing the heavy cooking, and also to everyone else for their contributions of food and drink.

Wait, there was pumpkin (or something pumpkinesque) and I missed it?!

It was a great day--well worth the bugs and the heat, and believe me, I don't say that too often. We hope to see everyone again next week in Chicago.

Just got done putting away all the leftovers and getting ready for Monday's grilling extravaganza at work.  It took a little longer because I was so overstuffed from Sunday's remarkable feast.  Many thanks to JRPfeff and the Pie Diva for playing host, and all their culinary contributions.  Great spread, and wonderful hospitality.

This was a solid Contingent event with almost everyone in attendance, including some folks we haven't seen much of lately.  If everyone who said they were going to be at next week's Honey Butter Fried Chicken Tour actually makes it, we're going to have a heckuva group, rivaling the Nashville Crawl crowd in size!

Thanks again to all for a dandy afternoon.  Hope to see you next week on the northwest side of Chicago.

It was only pumpkinesque in color and texture. It was savory and was sitting next to the guac. It had pita pieces with it. So good!

I think you're a little confused.  The overwhelmingly positive response was for the September Baraboo weekend.

Nina, Dee, and I, all had a great time yesterday! The late afternoon wind and rain was a welcome addition to a hot and sticky day. Food and pies were exceptional! Thanks Bobbi and Jim! Enjoyed schmoozing with the regulars and the newb's.

Let me also thank our hosts for their incredible generosity, not to mention their cooking prowess. Once again the conversations were as tasty as the raspberry cream pie (omg). Thanks Jim, thanks Bobbi, See ya'll Saturday in Chitown.

It sounds like that was the Muhammara we brought; it was our first time making it. Glad you liked it--here's a link to the recipe, just in case:

Big thanks to the Pfefferles for another great Smoke Day!  Pie-palooza was more scaled back, but I think it made those pies even more potent.

I think having Bobbi out there explaining the pies and supervising the eating added to everyone's enjoyment.

Don't poke the bear unless you're ready to rassle!  While it is not required, I have no doubt that Pie Diva will bring some sort of after dinner treat.

Not that big??? But since it’s been about 14months since I’ve had a Pie Diva creation I’ll just have to “force” myself.

David,

Bring a cooler. We'll be dividing up the remaining pie and bringing it on Saturday.
