Weird story. What made that owner think this is ok. Even if she said on the menu it was popeyes, that would be strange, but to sell fast food(even Popeyes, which is pretty good) and not tell your customers goes over the line!!!

"We didn't do anything wrong "
That's a warped value system right there.

My local Popeye's is literally 4 minutes from my house. I love the "spicy style" thighs. And, sooooooo easy to order, pick-up, and enjoy in my own home. Popeye's is (arguably) the best fast food fried chicken out there.

However, If I'm going to eat fried chicken in a restaurant, I don't want Popeye's! I want something unique, fresh, homemade, and better than something from a fast food joint.

Weird, just weird. I see she's hispanic. Couldn't she just buy some chickens cut up and give them a mexican spice rub or marinade and then fry them up? She could call them  Abuelita's chicken (grandma's chicken) or Mammacita's chicken.(mom's chicken). Would be different and not infringing on any trademarks. Seems  she  is too lazy to fry her own chicken up. $15.00 for some fried chicken and waffles is too much for my blood anyways . And I like waffles with ham or sausage.

Here in Pittsburgh, we took it a step further!  We had a Burger King on Pittsburgh's South Side, that kept the Burger King signs, menu, uniforms etc but served their own food in brown paper bags, frys in a styrofoam coffee cup.  It worked for several weeks...
