RE: Restaurant or Home-cooked steaks?
as many others my wife and i use togo out and eat on our anniversary....it was great but when it was all said and done good steak shrimp salad wine etc.hell we were lucky to get out the door at $150. with tip and all....it was fine dining but now i buy a few pounds of shrimp goto a butcher shop have them cut me 2 thick(prime) NY strips stop and get a good bottle of wine...and prepare a hell of a meal better than i got there at a fraction of what i paid to go out. i understand some might not feel that they can cook a great steak at home or prepare the seafood.......its very easy takes a little practice(practice with the cheap cuts they all cook the sameway) THE RULE IS HIGH HEAT and let it rest a bit before you cut it)shrimp is the same high temp & fast. and cleanup????wtf 2 people 10 dishes. = 5 min. all and if you can't grill outside or your grill is not hot enough break out the iron skillet get it nice and hot cook it that way.
