Rhode Island help

I'' be stopping at my grampy and grammy's in Rhode Island on my way to a clothier's convention in the Boston area.
Unfortunately, my grandparents have the most boring taste in food.
They always want to go to some hole-in-the wall thats been around, for, like 50 years.
Last time I visited, they dragged me to a drive in and insisted I have clamcakes and some kind of coffee-flavored ice cram soda- I believe they called it a "cupboard".
Wandering if some Rhode Island native can welcome me to this board by telling me where I can find a good solid American meal at a fun place, like Applebees or Cracker Barrel, near my route.
Arby's is always good too.
Oh, as you should have guessed I'll be driving up I-95.
Where do you think I should go?
Cheers
Walter Miller

Now there is a question I am just going to have to refrain from answering...but...I am partial to Evelyn's in Tiverton when I am in that neck of the woods...http://www.roadfood.com/Reviews/Overview.aspx?RefID=251

Walter, if you're looking for something of "chain quality", why don't you go to the nearest beach, stick your head in the sand and start eating? The taste is just as yummy and it's free!!!

all of the "chains" have their own website where you can look up their locations.

If that's what you're looking for, it should be easy for you to do the legwork.

Put in grandma's address, and a lot of them will even give you directions.

Paging Mr Troll...Mr Walter Troll, red courtesy phone please.

It's dirty pool to do this thread in W J's yard. Why couldn't your Grandparents be institutionalized in North Dakota or Vermont?

Cabinets. Well I knew it was some type of wood product. Anyway it tasted like pergo flooring- or, is that off topic?

You're reply imfers that there are no Roadfood members in these states. If so that confirms my darkest suspicions about the quality of Yankee and Scandinavian home cooking.
OK thats enough. I'll sign off before this topic gets locked.
