So Called Food Reallity Shows

Does anyone beside me think that these are the most, hyped, fake shows on tv? Gordon Ramsey's are as fake as the come.

Why should food shows be any different from any other "reality" show on TV? The public calls them reality shows. In the entertainment industry we call them "unscripted dramas". They're about as real as WWE wrestling.

I enjoy them except for all the yelling and cursing.
I like watching others cook no matter if it's scripted, real, fake  or what.

I can't stand them.  They're totally fake.  In my 28+ years of working in restaurant kitchens I never saw anything like what goes on in those "reality" shows.  If that's reality, I must have been off in la-la-land.

Gordo was just here to film an episode of Hotel Hell at the Applegate River Lodge.

Troon Vineyard Hosts Chef Gordon Ramsay
They did have a nice dinner under the stars at Troon Vineyards
"Troon Vineyard had the honor of hosting celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay and his Production Team for a wine dinner at the Applegate vineyard on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013. Chef Ramsay was in the Applegate to shoot an episode of his latest seriesHotel Hell.
The Chef and twelve members of his team dined under the stars on a menu consisting of local flavors from our valley like Rogue Creamery cheese, Gary West meats, local Filet Mignon, fresh strawberry and hazelnut salad and handmade desserts. All courses included Troon Vineyard wines such as the award winning 2011 Vermentino, the 2010 Cab Franc, and Insomnia Port to name just a few! A special toast was made with Troon’s 2002 Zinfandel which holds deep meaning to Vintner Chris Martin as THE vintage that convinced him that Troon Vineyard would be where Martin would hang his hat. Chef Ramsay graciously signed a bottle marking the 500,000 bottle produced by the vineyard. Additional photos and information available on the Troon Vineyard facebook page. "

For food shows, I think the documentary format is much better than "reality."  Bourdain is my favourite.

Not a fan of these at all, especially anything with Ramsey.  IMO he's a nasty piece of work.
