Yes already with a DD, sometimes two as the group had outgrown seating of any of our vehicles and we end up in two. We have plans to head out to Sciota Ribber just before Xmas.

I mentioned Hammann's Butcher Shoppe a couple of times and think it has the best brisket in the tri-state.

I forgot to mention late last year that they now have a food truck in their parking lot. Definitely worth checking out, although I never did see if they continued doing that through the winter. Either way, with warmer weather right around the corner it should certainly be rocking soon.

Sorry to be "that guy"... hell no I'm not sorry. Troni's has jumped the shark. I read somewhere (maybe in one of the Yelp reviews) that ownership changed. We're not going back for awhile.

Apparently NYPN doesn't have eviction authority, as I'm sure you'd be banished.

We make due with Dewey's around Cinci.  Have not been back to Troni's in quite some time (since we lost our post-polio syndrome afflicted amigo Frank).

OK, I'm officially addicted to The Home Place. I've been there four times in the past two months.

The problem we have is restraining ourselves. Like the AM/PM ad says, too much good stuff.

Not sure where they get their lunchmeat from, but it's way better than Boar's Head and much cheaper.

A pleasant surprise on Saturday was that we saw a sign when we pulled in advertising ribs. When we smelled smoke upon getting out of the car, we knew we had to try some. They were outstanding. Super tender, meaty, with a nice smoky flavor. Full racks were $16, halves were $9, which isn't had for quality St. Louis style.

The owner said this was an experiment, and that he was looking into doing them as well as wings, on Fridays.

If it's in Georgetown, OH then according to their website they use Walnut Creek brand deli products (presumably THIS is their website).

That is their website.  They do sell lots of Walnut Creek products including cold cuts  and bacon and chips etc.  They usually do ribs and chicken in the summer months.

Yeah, I knew they used a lot of Walnut Creek products but didn't know about the lunchmeat. Not surprised since all of the other WC stuff we've sampled have been exceptional.

Love their friendly staff too,  who are almost all Mennonites, and many are former Amish.

In the very beginning of this thread I talked about the Home Place in Georgetown.  It remains one of my favorite shopping places.

I checked out the Home Place website and we're interested in going. If we were to make an afternoon of it, do they generally have something you can get for a meal, even if they're not running ribs that day? It's hard to tell from the website whether they even have a dining room.

There is no dining room inside - there is a table or two inside and outside and they make sandwiches to order.

Sandwiches (you fill out a card with options -- chicken fritters and steak are among our favorites), pretzels, donuts and other pastries, soups (one is always a chili), salads. All are excellent. You won't go hungry, and you won't go broke.

We have made the habit of getting lunch, eating in our car, then coming back in and getting our other items so we don't buy the place and also so the lunchmeat stays cold.

Re Home Place Georgetown OH

We are partial to their cracked wheat bread - it has the  most chewiness, texture
 and taste.

Went back to Home Place two weeks ago and the Cowaburger in Mt. Orab was gone. That's a shame -- they had some of the best hot dogs in the area.

I  was at Jungle Jim's and Home Place yesterday stocking up on groceries - I never ate at Cowaburger - my fast food joint of choice  is White Castle which I visited yesterday also and brought home some burgers for dinner for the wife and I - we used to have a cat who also craved sliders!
