Spaghetti pizza?

Apparently there's a small chain in northwestern Illinois called Angelo's, and they're known around the region for - yes - spaghetti pizza.

I did some digging, and found multiple establishments in Illinois (outside Chicago) and Iowa that offer it:

Angelo's - Sterling, Dixon, and Rock Falls, IL
Al & Leda's - Dixon, IL
Mama Cimino's - Dixon, IL
Gianorio's - Lombard, IL
Happy Joe's - various (looks like at least the Pella, Dubuque, and Cedar Rapids locations offer it; I never had it growing up)

Ever try this?  Know of any other places that do it?

Some more pics:

I have had a spaghetti " pizza" where the pasta IS the crust. But I don't think I could eat this. Too much all at once for me.

My God.  My Mom was all over that in the 1970's.  I've eaten more than my fair share.  Didn't know it was still a thing though.

I'm curious to see how far its reach extends.  I mean, I'm sure there are isolated pizzerias all over the country that do something similar, with different kinds of pasta, but there's clearly some kind of geographical center for spaghetti pizza: at least three different establishments in Dixon, IL alone, and a chain in NW IL with three locations.

I went to Happy Joe's a lot as a kid, but only the ones in the Quad-Cities area.  Their website doesn't list spaghetti pizza, so presumably it's not offered at all locations, but Yelpers for the ones I listed above mention it in their reviews.  I have some investigating to do the next time I go back.

I had a college roommate who used to make spaghetti sandwiches with Italian bread all the time.

And I remember once in high school the football team got to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory in Indianapolis after a special practice in the Hoosier Dome.  One of my teammates took one of the loaves of bread they have and carefully scooped out all the soft inside and then filled it to the brim with spaghetti.  So there is clearly a market for this carb bomb.

And yes I would try it if given the opportunity.

A slightly different incarnation of the spaghetti pizza I had in Des Moines IA was the crust itself was the spaghetti, swirled into a whirlpool of aligned strands, par baked with olive oil to firm it up and crust it up, then a pizza built on top.

I had spaghetti pizza once many, many years ago, but I don't remember where.  There was a recent episode on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives where the restaurant served spaghetti pizza, but i don't remember the details.

It certainly looks odd, but you know, I bet it's awesome.  After all, there's a whole chain in NW IL that specializes in this.  I'm willing to bet they know something that we don't!

Don't think it would be digusting.  All the flavors I like.  Sort of like an Italian Savory Kugel.

Oh, I like spaghetti as a crust. I don't think I would like a pizza crust with spaghetti and then all the toppings. No offense.

A friend invited me over for lunch a few years ago, and she made a similar but smaller version of the RF recipe, and she called it spaghetti pie--baked in a pie pan. It was very good. I don't think I would like the spaghetti on top of a pizza dough crust. Too many carbs!

This is from my hometown - I escaped prior to this madness - but fondly remember the delicious pizza and pasta at Angelo's. I bet the combo would be unbelievable! I need a road trip "home"...

In the New York City area, ziti pizza is pretty commonly served.
