It is also unlikely we will have 25 people for this...

Tax and Tip and Beverages will be extra...

A must stop and perhaps a double dip kinda place...

ChiBears15 will ONLY be taking photographs and NOT eating...

I will take my photographs and then go nap in the car.  I may miss the best meal of the trip...

Our family visited  one of my son's college roommates  in Nashville in August.  He took us to Husk!

The food was absolutely wonderful!  I would consider this a must, when eating in Nashville.  For my main course, I had  a wonderful duck dish.  My son had the catfish and said it was the best that he had ever had.   I know that I had a shrimp and grit appetizer .............terrific.  I cannot recall what anyone else had.  If you do decide to go there, I bet it will be the highlight of your trip.

Jen and I hope to be around for both visits. Are others allowed to take photos, or does ChiSalad29 get upset with the competition?

After discussions with some Roadfood Crawl masters, and more discussions with Husk, they have offered a new proposal that I think will fit into the Crawl philosophy very well.

$20 per person
Depending on the number attending, 3-4 tables, 5-6 people per table.

Arrival Snack:
Pimento with Benne Wafers

Entree:
(*Each table will receive the following to share/pass around)
1 Cheeseburger
1 Fried Chicken
1 Catfish
1 Shrimp & Grits

*Beverages charged on Consumption
*Service Charge/Gratuity not included

Because of a worry about not enough of the cheeseburger to go around, the catfish might be replaced by a second cheeseburger.

This will enable us to get a good taste of their lunch offerings, and we’ll still be able to precede it with Arnold’s (which has catfish that day if anyone wants it).

Because their lunch and dinner menus are so different, there’s still a possibility we might want to have the opening night dinner on Wednesday there as well. I’m assuming fewer people would show up for that, based on the number at the opening dinner in KC.

Thoughts?

David,
Husk for the Wednesday night dinner would be great. However, I wouldn't bother with trying to set up any special samplers for a set price. I suggest we do what we did at the German place in KC. We all order something different and then just share ( or a few of the same dishes if there is heavy demand). Chances are there won't be a huge crowd for Wednesday night.

Thanks,
Danny

The sampler menu is for the lunch visit, ala SLAPS BBQ in KC.  Wednesday night dinner should be a more manageable affair with fewer attendees, so ordering off the menu should work fine.

Fortunately, Husk's menu goes right down the middle.

I think I'll have to check out a Sounds game. Heard lots of good things, and they're home every night we're there.

I can coordinate that if anyone else is interested.

Bonk, that does sound interesting. We would certainly consider it depending on what the schedule of the day looks like.
If the Predators are home that week, I would seriously consider getting scalper seats for the game.

Agreed. Would likely be early round 2 for the Preds.

On Husk (I always think Husker Du when I see that name) - BTW, we paid $25 a head at Josza's Corner in Pittsburgh, so while I realize low cost is part of the Roadfood theme, I have no problem paying that once in a while for what's sure to be an amazing eating experience.

If it's not going to be a big meal, we'll gauge accordingly with the other stops around that time in terms of stomach capacity.

Heading to Nashville? You better have a favorite old-timey country song ready, just in case you end up in a honky-tonk that's taking requests. Really, it could happen.

Here's a suggestion.

Didn't you hear, John?  The spring crawl has been cancelled.  The new event will be a pizza crawl in Gary, Indiana next fall.  You and Jen should be excited about this change because Gary is a lot closer than Nashville.

Cancelled??  Did not hear or notice.  Why.  Nashville is a perfect foodie travel.  This one was the perfect trip for Roz and Paul.

He's joking Paul.  It's a reference to a long gone thread about the invention of Pizza in Gary, IN.  The Nashville tour is alive and kicking.  Davidsanders has taken the lead with support from organizers of previous Crawls.  Everything is on track for April 26-29, 2018.

There will be some definitive announcements after the first of the year, unless David gets itchy and jumps the gun.

I thought you all had gathered there already. I kept checking the thread hoping to see your pictures of the event but never saw any.

The constant gunfire made picture-taking impossible.
