Thanksgiving in Minneapolis

I haven't booked any trip yet for next weekend, and I am getting a little bout of cabin fever. One of the super-cheap fares that came up for me is a Thursday to Sunday round-trip to MSP for $116. Considering that my beloved Penguins are playing in town that Friday, this is looking like a serious option. The reality is that I don't have a thanksgiving dinner place in mind for Minneapolis - and I don't think that a Juicy Lucy is what I have in mind. Last year, I did southern California, which could still be an option this year, as I found a round-trip for the same dates into San Diego for $221. In southern Cal, it was easy for me to choose Du-Par's (turkey dinner with pancakes) for my Thanksgiving feast.

If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears. That said, I am really not looking for dining companions or home invites. That is really nice of any of you that would consider that, but this trip for me is for flying solo.

Thank you!

Give Davydd a call; it looks like he has some empty spaces at the table.

Davydd is a nice enough guy, but I am not looking for his homemade lutefisk hotdish on this trip.

The Lowell Inn in Stillwater would be my choice. A historic inn and restaurant dating back to 1927. Duncan Hines approved, too.

Here's a link to their Thanksgiving menu.

No lutefisk ever. What little there might be in Minnesota is reserved for wanderingjew.

We would welcome you at our house but this year we are traveling to our nieces house where last count there will be 21 people and still counting, and the tradition continues.

The Lowell Inn in Stillwater is an excellent choice. I'm assuming you will be in St. Paul and not Minneapolis since the X for hockey is in downtown St. Paul. I'd recommend the St. Paul Grill. Another classic throwback excellent restaurant and they have a Thanksgiving special menu.  https://www.stpaulgrill.com/events/thanksgiving/

Thanks for the help, but the mission to Minneapolis is aborted. It looks like New York will get a bonus visit from me this year. I see some college hoops possibly in my future.
