Glorioso's and the Quadracci Pavilion are only 1-1/2 miles apart (less than a 10-minute drive) so I suggest that regardless of the destination, the trip from Glorioso's include at least a drive-by.

Also, while the tailgate is scheduled for 10:45 please keep in mind that it could be closer to 11:00 before the brats are ready.  Is the head count still looking like 10?  I'm planning on 1 brat/person since there'll be a few sides and snacks and y'all obviously have more eating afterward.  Are there any objections to pretzel buns?

abe_froeman & Mr. Maki will likely skip the tailgate, so just two Roadhouses and two Canadians.

I'll be available for to/from tailgate rides Sunday.
Is there still a Cermak grocery stop planned.

Even if we don't shop there, it seems like a convenient, close meeting place where we can leave our cars for an hour or so.  Agreed, or something better in mind?

Nice itineraries Buddy.

For those wishing less culture, stop here instead of Pabst Mansion.

I also suggest that all Toronto Raptor garb be left South of the border in Canada.

I was definitely planning at least a drive by of the Art Museum.  Depending on time, we might even go in.

Have you forgotten who you're dealing with?  We'll aim for 10:45 and be lucky to be there at 11.

ScreamingChicken
Is the head count still looking like 10?

As mentioned above, abe_froeman & Mr. Maki will not be tailgating, however, we just picked up two new guests in the form of our new neighbors, Tony & Milena.  They'll be joining us for all or most of the tour, starting with the tailgate.

ScreamingChicken
I'm planning on 1 brat/person since there'll be a few sides and snacks and y'all obviously have more eating afterward.

I wouldn't worry too much about quantities.  As you say, we've got a long day and a lot of eating ahead of us.  I'm sure your Brats are fabulous, but I will try to limit my intake to a half.

ScreamingChicken
Are there any objections to pretzel buns?

Yes.  But it's a personal issue.  I'll get over it.

For those wishing less culture, stop here instead of Pabst Mansion.

Breweries and Canadians go together like French Fries, Cheese Curds, and Brown Gravy.

I also suggest that all Toronto Raptor garb be left South of the border in Canada.

Usually it's frightened Americans traveling in foreign countries pretending to be Canadian.  Nice to have the shoe on the other foot for a change.

Can't speak for the Pfeffs, but hope they'll be there, and other stops along the way.

Too bad, but at least we won't have to worry about where to park your car.  I'll call your cell as we get close to Cermak's.  Hoping you'll join us for other stops after the tailgate.  I need to repay your generosity with Corned Beef and Beer.

Brad,

I must have missed you with the PM. We won't be in bed before 2:00 that morning, so anywhere before noon is a no go. Likely joining the tour mid-afternoon.

What bratwurst brand are you serving?

Looks like a fun multi-day tour, but we're not able to join in. We leave on Saturday (from Chicago) for our trip to Greece and Israel. We hope to catch up with the Contingencies at an event in June or July.

Bon voyage to quijote and sancho panza!  Hope you have a wonderful trip.

On other fronts, some disappointing news regarding our dinner at Girl and the Goat.  Turns out we're not having it.  Sadly our new neighbor, whom we still like very much, was unable to secure the reservation due to circumstances beyond his control.

In light of this development, I've rearranged Saturday's schedule as follows:

Saturday on the South Side
11:15am-Vito & Nick's, 8433 S Pulaski Rd, Chicago, (773) 735-2050
(One of the best places to get Chicago Tavern Style Pizza; the non-touristy one)
12:45pm-Lem's BBQ, 311 E 75th St, Chicago, (773) 994-2428
(Classic South Side Chicago 'Que, prepared in an "Aquarium Smoker")
2:00pm-Carnitas Uruapan Restaurant, 1725 W 18th St, Chicago, (312) 226-2654
         (Regarded as Chicago's best Carnitas)
3:15pm-Lawrence's Fish and Shrimp, 2120 S Canal St, Chicago, (312) 225-2113
         (Great fried seafood)
4:15pm-Ricobene’s, 252 W 26th St, Chicago, (312) 225-5555
(Best known for their Breaded Steak Sandwiches)
5:30pm-Ed's Potsticker House, 3139 S Halsted St, Chicago, (312) 326-6898
(Smoked Pork Belly Pancakes, Garlic Eggplant.  An irisarbor favorite!)

As an added bonus, if we're still hungry, we'll make a dessert trip to Cunis Candies for their amazing summertime specials, Peach and Strawberry Ice Cream.

Cunis Candies, 1030 E 162nd St, South Holland, (708) 596-2440

We started off tonight with a brilliant meal at Mykonos in Niles.  Many thanks to irisarbor & Frank, ChiBears16, and LA Muse Bouche for joining us in welcoming nagle & Wawa Mama to Chicago.  Hope to see as many of you as possible over the course of the weekend.

Brats will most likely be Klement's or Usinger's; I'm thinking 5 regular and 5 beer.

For anyone interested in joining us mid-tour, it will be a good idea to call me to check on where we are and where we're going next.

ALSO...It's probably a good idea for us to make a reservation at McBob's for Sunday.  I'm thinking 12:30, just to give us time to get from the tailgate back to our cars, and then to McBob's.  So far I'm counting eight people:

Roadhouses-2
abe_froeman & Mr. Maki-2
nagle & Wawa Mama-2
chicagostyledog & Nina-2
Gyp-1

Anyone else interested in going, please post by end of the day today.

Thanks,
Buddy

I told you to not let him have that second Happy Meal!

The tailgate was a success, although because of the rest of their schedule the Nagles and Buddy weren't able to stick around longer.  The game lasted less than 3 hours because the Brewers just blew the Phillies out of the water (that silver sombrero fits you nicely, Bryce Harper), which turned out to be a good thing because we then got to Maria's before everybody else...and discovered that they're closed through this coming Wednesday.  So we adjusted accordingly and got together for a nice dinner at Jalapeno Loco instead.

We had a great time yesterday SC. We appreciate the invite to join you for some of the tailgating fun. I did my best to behave and keep my Canadian status under wraps in a heavily Milwaukee cheering crowd. 😂

A big thanks to all who we met up with over the last few days. Our tour of Chicago and Milwaukee was absolutely fantastic. Reconnecting with friends from years past and meeting new ones was a highlight of a wonderful trip. A big thanks to Chuck for chauffeuring us to and from Miller Park. I have to give you fair warning, we will be back! Having visited Milwaukee for the first time, we can’t wait to get back.

Cheers
