The Travelin Man
Hypothetically speaking, if one were planning to attend a Brewers game on a Friday evening, would there be an ideally situated locale for a fish fry nearby, with hours suitable to accommodating a 7 pm(ish) first pitch, and easily accommodating a group of say....eight?

While I've never eaten there, Balistreri's Blue Mound Inn is just west of Miller Park and with its patio looks like it could easily handle a group of 8.  I know Gyp lives not too far away so maybe he can provide more details.

Some of the bars and restaurants in the Miller Park vicinity provide shuttle service to and from the games, which might be an advantage for you.

Our son-in-law was telling us about this place. Maybe a contingent get together? http://www.fitzgeraldsfishboil.com/

I know you dislike fish, but their website says they also serve "locally famous BBQ Chicken and BBQ Ribs," at least one of which, I'll bet, starts out in the same boiling pot with the fish.

Doesn't appeal to me, especially after Buddy mentioned boiling ribs...

Pie Diva,
In case you missed the mass PM I sent out, we're looking at doing a mini-tour on Sunday July 3rd that could include Fitzgerald's.  This trip is built around Kenosha and several places along the state line.  Available?

IIRC, we enjoyed the baked cod at Elias Inn.  I reckon boiled fish has its charms as well.

The 3rd is definitely a go.  Are you and Pie Diva in?

Confirmed attendees (those who have specifically indicated they'd be there) include abe_froeman, Mr. Maki, ChiBears15, irisarbor & Mr., BuddyRoadhouse & Mrs., and our fearless leader WailingPullet.  Please let us know if you're planning to join the fun, and if you have any suggestions for stops.

The fearless leader and I have communicated and are figuring on a not too heavy day, maybe 3-4 stops.  Most of the journey is planned to center around the state line, and, for the time being, includes a fishboil at some point (other menu items are available for the fish haters).  Further thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Further thoughts and suggestions are welcome.

Unless a supper club, steakhouse, or fish fry will definitely be involved perhaps this day trip should have its own thread...

My cousin is having her 4th of July family picnic on July 2 this year so I'm good to go for the 3rd.

Spend August 6 with the Contingent?

I'm proposing August 6 for the Fox & Hounds outing. Saturday means 2 for 1 prime rib (and everything else too).

A pre-meal stop at Bistro Z in Sussex is along the Hwy 164 route to F&H. They serve Happy Hour from 3-6 on Saturdays. Martin is working in the kitchen there, and we'd like to show off some of the dishes he prepares. Z also has some fantastic speciality cocktails included on the $6 Happy Hour menu. Including an Old Fashioned that Flatlanders will not be embarrassed to order.

I don't have any baseball tickets for that day so I'm most likely in.

Speaking as a person who once endured a Genesis concert for someone, is Mr. Maki on board with this?  Or would he really rather hang out with the cool kids?
