Lisa,
I cant recreate the spreadsheet. That was a world wonder. However, I will gladly take a lead role in the planning assuming I can get the days off and attend.

On the other hand, Pittston wouldn't be a bad idea. And it's not all that far from Emmitsburg.

I see no point in belaboring this anymore. Like I said earlier, anyone interested in voting has had more than enough time to do so and had to be aware this process was ongoing.

I've double and triple checked to make sure I didn't miss anyone, either in this thread or PM.

Not to stir up anything or cause any problems, and obviously I'm biased, but the fact that the final vote was so incredibly close between two cities prompts me to bring up Chris's idea of narrowing it down to the last two and then voting between the two. I know, John, that you said that we are really late in deciding, but it could take just a few, two, three or even four days to let people have a final say. The fact that the votes were weighted to narrow it down to five really has an effect, especially since the losing city got seven first place votes, compared to six for the winner.

I'll go with whatever the group says. I am also surprised there were some people who didn't vote. They either didn't want to or didn't get around to it, but that's the way it is.

Just like the Crawl itself, every year we get a little bit smarter in how we do things.  IMO, that's reflected in the way Bonk handled the voting this time around.  We'll make note of people's responses, take into account their concerns, and make additional tweaks next year.  Sooner or later, we're bound to get it right.

As long we continue to get support and attendance, this won't be the last Crawl.  There will be more opportunities to visit the runner up cities in the future.  Personally, I'd love to see us invade one of the Southern cities, and hope we get there in 2021.

Until then, let's start looking at the possibilities Cleveland holds for us.  The first time I visited, I was delighted by the city's unique combination of glitter and grit.  I look forward to sharing my experience with the planners so we can put together a first rate Crawl.

No excuses for all you East Coasters who've missed the last few years; we better see a big turn out!

Since we're on a roll, the next thing we need to talk about is dates.

Easter/Passover run the middle weekend in April next year, so that's out.

The Cleveland Marathon is May 16-17, and we learned the hard way in Nashville that a marathon pretty much cripples a city's road system.

Memorial Day is the following weekend.

I'll continue to look at major events in Cleveland that would deter us from picking a particular weekend, but here's what that leaves us with:

April 23-26
April 30-May 3
May 7-10

Keep in mind that Cleveland is on the east side of a Great Lake, and lake effect snow is a regular occurrence late into April. Later is probably better if we want favorable weather.

Comments? Are any of those weekends non-starters for anyone?

We'll discuss for a few days then pick a weekend.

Mother's Day, 2020=May 10th.

Probably worth looking into graduation weekend for Case Western and any other major learning institutions in the area.

I started my research last year with a call to the local chamber of commerce.
