The answer to every Windy City eater's dream

No more embarrassment for our neighbors to the South. Heinz has made a major condiment breakthrough just for them.

Read all about it here.

I'm having a Chicago Hot Dog Sauce dog as I type this. I find mustard on hotdogs DISGUSTING.. I wipe it off if I have too. Don't quote Dirty Harry to me , eat what you want and to Hell with the haters.

I wonder how many people had to be screen-tested before there was enough useable footage for the commercial.

Not too many, they filmed on the North side. They are gullible there. For over 100 years they believed Cubs would win series.

ScreamingChicken,

You can speak with authority on this, is Secret Stadium Sauce an acceptable condiment on a hotdog?

I viewed the video with a mix of shame and a sense of opportunity.  I had no idea so many of my fellow Chicagoans were so gullible.  OTOH, I've got a few old street cons I might bring out of mothballs.  It was very considerate of Heinz to show their faces without any blurring, but it's still a big city.  Couldn't they have provided some kind of contact information for these dummies?

CSD is going to have to revise his curriculum and retrofit a lot of carts to keep up with the demand.

Buddy,

Have you ever thought of scraping everything off a Chicago dog into a food processor, pureeing & bottling it? Roadhouse Instant Chicago Dog Sauce(TM) might let you retire.

Odds are that pureed tomato, sport peppers, neon relish, etc. will taste exactly like catsup.

I understand the 55 gallon drum will be used exclusively by Earl Scheib to repaint any car for $99.95 and this week only $20 free metal work.

Just remember, you will never again be able to drive your car in the rain after an Earl Scheib paint job.

ScreamingChicken,

You can speak with authority on this, is Secret Stadium Sauce an acceptable condiment on a hotdog?

While there are obvious similarities between SSS and ketchup, SSS definitely has a more interesting, complex, and less sweet taste (comparison conducted 30 seconds ago in my kitchen).  I would consider it acceptable for a hot dog, especially one made in WI or one consumed during the observation of a sporting competition featuring a WI-based team.  Perhaps I'll bring some along the next time I see BuddyStyleDog or ChicagoRoadhouse to see what they think.

Ironically, at Miller Park the condiment stations have those big dispensers for mustard and ketchup but the SSS is in the same bottle that's found at the grocery store.

Thank you ScreamingChicken. Did you taste the presence of Sport Peppers in the SSS?

No, no sport peppers in the SSS.  But I think there might be some Worcestershire in there.

I lived out in Lisle for about 12 years and miss the dogs !
And the Greek diners.
Remember what Jim Croce said about the South Side of Chicago ? He wasn't kidding.
There is a reason they call the place where the White Sux play ball "The Cell."

GO CUBS !!

There used to be a chicago dog place in town.  They could have used this sauce; they didn't have ketchup.
And they're out of business.
