"I've had people make road trips for miles, whether it be from Cleveland or Massachusetts or New England, and they'll come in just to relive their memories and say they ate at the last York Steak House standing," the owner said.

Do I sense a detour on that Fine honeymoon trip?

I don't think they want to spend any time in that part of town.

For my friends in high school, York was their idea of the finest in fine dining.

It's still in rotation for us with some friends.  Maybe not as often as it used to be but we definitely still go.  I happen to like the burger and my wife always gets the sirloin tips.  And it is definitely true that nothing about this place has changed a bit since the 70s except for the prices.  It's the only place you still see those fake bacon bits on the salad bar.

The west side isn't great but there are a few things to do over there.  The casino if that interests you.  We've only been there twice since it opened.  There are however several other worthy roadfood places on that side of town.

In the Northeast it was Bonanza - same premise. I think they are all gone now though.
