The recent website changes have destroyed the experience

1) Instead of having the Latest Reviews, Guides etc being neatly laid out, the photos and texts are now oversized and require a lot of wasteful scrolling.  Not all of the text appears on the screen.

2) The map function no longer works.  I used to select a geographic location and all of the restaurants within range would appear as icons on the map.  It was buggy but worked just well enough.  Now, no map.  Just a list of restaurants.

A lot of people have left this website over the years as Yelp, Trip Advisor and others have moved in as category killers.  I have always liked the quirky nature of this website and its unique approach.  But these changes, particularly the lack of a mapping function, have me thinking whether I want to include roadfood.com in my regular rotation.  Sorry to see that happen after so many years.

It's the socializing as well as the food and restaurant information that I like.

I don't use Roadfood primarily as a reference.

I haven't looked at anything but unread posts for about 10 years.

I wish they would amp the changes up. Fexy bought the site and walked away.

I just checked the map function (restaurants near me) and it worked fine.

I use Chrome and the home page still looks terrible and the map function doesn't work at all.  I tried the website using Internet Explorer and while the home page looks fine and I can see that the old map loads with restaurants listed underneath, it is obscured by a large blank rectangular pop up that asks about my location.

I am wondering whether the new owners have reduced their technical staff and they are just letting the site deteriorate.  Interesting that nobody has piped in on this thread to get more information about the problem.

I use multiple browsers and am able to engage maps just fine.  PM's work, threads all work, I submit reviews and they are received and published.  Working pretty good on my end.
