Updated where to eat in Seattle and SeaTac 2015

Hi!!!

All of our posts on where to eat in Seattle were last updated around 2003. The latest was 2010.

Anyone know what is still there that is a must-do?

Also I will be stuck at a motel at the SeaTac airport for a few days. Anything near there?

Thanks all!

One of my favorite places is the 13 Coins at Sea Tac. I always go for the counter and its great big comfortable "stools."

    I second 13 Coins.
Lots of places in Seattle, Kells in Post Alley (near Pike Market) is one of my favorites though. Good food, good drinks, and loads of charm. Irish food and atmosphere.
You might also try downtown Kirkland on the waterfront (straight up 405 from Sea-Tac). Not sure what is there now, but there was always a good variety of places to eat when I worked there, and it's a great area for a stroll.

I liked Ivar's fish bar because after six weeks in Mukeltio, I was ready to leave. One last lunch and I'm outta here.

There's an Ivar's in the terminal I believe. Anything else worth checking out actually in the airport? I'll have a one and a half hour layover there this summer.

There's a central food court that has some passable establishments.

Anthony's Fish bar is head over heels the best fish and chips in Seatac. The fish is cooked to order, crisp and hot. The fries are also hot ( Not fresh) But good any way. The fish taco is also popular. If your looking for a good steak, the Metropolitan Grill is my go to place. It also has a great Bar.

Thanks! I went to click LIKE and realized I'm not at that other site.

They had Ivar's on the train from Seattle to Portland last time I went.

I will definitely check out 13 Coins and Anthony's.

I will also be in Seattle proper (Pioneertown) for a few days. I have to try Top Pot Donuts since last time there was a ban on peanuts! I remember there was a BBQ place somewhere nearby that was recommended...

I may be in the Seattle area later this year.  Anyone try a Seattle-style hot dog?  Looks like it's a real thing - recent, but real.

I never associated cream cheese as a Seattle thing. Biker Jim has been putting cream cheese (and those same caramelized onions) on his dogs since I have known him. I know he got some of his inspiration from some folks back in Anchorage, but I didn't think Seattle was in the lineage.

The only bbq place I can think of with any kind of following in or near Seattle is/was Dixie's BBQ in Bellevue. I frequented it when it was at its height, and the original owner who is now deceased, Gene Porter, introduced me to "the man" himself (a ridiculous hot sauce that is not for the faint of heart or palate). It's easily the hottest thing I've ever eaten in my life.
I've heard it's not the same in the 5 years since Mr. Porter died though, hit or miss on the quality.

This.  Outside the airport, but easy walking distance.

Kaszeta I read this article and then realized I had been there some years ago while staying at the Sea-Tac Hilton. Across the street and down a ways was another cool place that served broasted chicken.  Behind the bar was a rotisserie that held like 100 chickens and I sat there drinking a beer and watching the chicken cook. All within walking distance of the airport.

Yes, Ketteract I have heard of this Seattle dog, but not seen it. I am strangely not tempted.

Too bad, Seamus. It's so sad when we lose a place.

And 13 Coins is definitely on my to do list

Any updates on Sea-Tac airport food? I have a five-hour layover!
