Waffle House: Better Than The French Laundry

Anthony Bourdain is supposed to know a thing or two about restaurants. And until today I couldn't stand him. But I'm changing my mind now that he's proven to me that he does have good sense. According to Bourdain, Waffle House is "better than the French Laundry."

Bourdain is a jerk.  I have been to the French Laundry and it definitely one of the finest restaurants in the US.  Everything is perfect.......the wine, the ambiance, the service and especially the cuisine.  He can have the Waffle House with their greasy food, inadequate coffee and screaming children!

I sense a disturbance in domestic tranquility, somewhere within a 100 mile radius of me

Disturbance in domestic tranquility?  Nah.  I told him he can go to the WH for dinner.  I am making fresh lobster ravioli topped with jumbo lump crabmeat in a cream sauce with fresh tomato chunks and chives.  End of conversation!

Very well, if you insist, I will take MH's place at the table tonight as a favor to you, but of course, you'll owe me :-)

I trust Tony on many a thing, but WH ain't one of them. The food is substandard and cooked by rank amateurs, even by fast food standards. I'll take Cracker Barrel any day over them.

I really enjoy The Waffle House but swoon over the memory of my 2 meals at The French Laundry.  If he will treat me to another meal at The French Laundry, I will treat him to 20 meals at the Waffle House.!
