Westmont: The other half of the menu

ChiBears15 had a brilliant idea to have a Roadfood crawl in ChiTownDiner's beloved Westmont, Illinois. Gregg posted extensively on social media about the Westmont dining options; and was a food critic for My Suburban Life and the Kane County Chronicle. We can certainly assemble an itinerary worthy of a Sultan from Gregg's recommendations.

Instead of waiting for the votes to be counted for the official big Roadfood crawl (n.b., Bonk, there is no reason to suspend voting following Gregg's passing. He's from Illinois, his vote will still be counted, early & often), a one-day crawl by The Contingent is doable this year.

Does a weekend in September or October work for everyone? BuddyRoadhouse, how good are your Microsoft Excel skills?

Let's get started, be my Guest.

No poll necessary for the following:

The weekend of October 5th Nina and I are a planning a tour to Elkhart Lake, Plymouth, and Sheboygan called "Beer, Brats, and BMW's." This has been in the making for over a year and will finally take place on Saturday, October 5th. It will include a portion of the day at Road America at a BMW driving school event noshing on Brats at the Road America concession stands, a visit to the Charcoal Inn in Sheboygan, and pizza for dinner at Dino's Pizza in Plymouth.

I'm from old school and those who plan to attend can PM me on Facebook or Roadfood, when I officially post the event and the schedule.

Mike Loew, let me know of any other great brat places for this tour.

I'd love to join in a Westmont Crawl in September/October in honor/memory of Gregg. I'm not available on Saturdays  beginning September 21st, when our downtown season resumes, and I'll be in Providence and Maine from September 2-10. I'm free most Sundays in September and October, except September 29th, which is Erev Rosh Hashanah, and October 20, which has a scheduled CSO concert.

If I am available, I would happily join in this tribute to Gregg.  My schedule is so crazy I won't bother putting dates.  If you could just PM me when a date is selected I will let you know if I am available.

Thanks,
Rocky

I thought that it was a good time to discuss when we are going to crawl ChiTownDiner's old haunts. It looks like the first and last weekends of October are out; and David is only available Sundays starting late September. If we want to do it on Saturday then September 14th would work out the best based upon current information. Sunday the 13th of October also fits into everyone's current schedule. Are you interested and when are you available?

I'm working both of those days, with a concert in Champaign on Saturday the 26th. Elaine, did you mean Friday and Saturday, or Saturday and Sunday, which would be Oct 26-27.

Just wondering who's organizing this outing?  My plate is full at the moment, so even if I'm available to attend, someone else will need to put it together.
