What Is Your Favorite Breakfast Sandwich?

Currently I have been spending a lot of time in New Jersey. With a family owned Diner or Deli on every corner its easy to find quality food. Competition for breakfast sandwiches abound. Having not spent time in this area my entire life I had heard of Pork Roll and Taylor Ham. But had not eaten it. Its a salty cold cut found exclusively in New Jersey. Cooked on a grill like Bologna is in the Midwest like G & R Tavern in Waldo Ohio. Out here they serve it on Kaiser Rolls, Bread, and Portuguese Rolls. A Portuguese Roll is sort of between a Kaiser Roll and a Hamburger Bun and slightly larger than a Kaiser roll and softer.

My current favorite breakfast sandwich it from http://salsdeliandgrill.com/menu.html in Middlesex New Jersey. The Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese. Served on a Portuguese Roll with salt pepper, hot sauce, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 thicker slices of american cheese, and 5 slices of Pork Roll. All for the amazing price of just $3.75. If these were served in Ohio there would be a line.

What is your favorite Breakfast Sandwich homemade or purchased.

Russ, agreed. New Jersey has  plenty of places for great breakfast sandwiches....and pork roll for breakfast is a tradition found everywhere here.  Prefer mine with over easy eggs on a Kaiser roll and slices of American cheese, but I've had it tons of other ways. Also pretty interesting on a pretzel roll. Now start hitting all the great pizza places ...diners,sub shops, bagel shops....etc!

I usually buy Taylor Pork Roll at Carfagna's in Columbus, although I have gotten it at Kroger.

Taylor Ham w/ egg on Sesame Bagel. Got my 8 packages from Jersey Pork Roll last week. I also love Country Ham, but I don't want to pay for shipping that, because my Wife is not a fan.

Don't know of any breakfast sandwiches around here other than the fast food varieties.

But...  We have breakfast burritos!  They're all good!

I forgot!  Nova Lox, cream cheese and an onion bagel!  Capers and onions are involved.

Just wish the delicatessens had bagels as good as the bagel shops.

OK. I just happen to have some really good country ham on hand, delivered personally from Georgia. Tomorrow at 2 p.m. you'll be getting a ham biscuit served for your lunch.

Since Hardee's and Carl's Jr merged, can now get a Hardee's style biscuit out here at Carl's Jr. There is a God!
And can get Taylor Pork Roll at Fry's, (Kroger), as well.
And of course Breakfast Burrito's abound everywhere.

This thread is about your favorite breakfast sandwich.  A hot dog is not a sandwich.

But I agree.

One of my favorite sandwiches is what I call a pan scrambled.  Crack two eggs into a hot pan.  Smoosh them around until cooked.  Put the eggs between two well buttered slices of white bread with a little ketchup.
(This is a bit messy to eat.  I usually eat mine over the kitchen sink with my sleeves rolled up.)

.... found exclusively in New Jersey.

We had it on Long Island and have it here in Virginia.

I make a New York style egg sandwich with Taylor pork roll thick cut, slice of american cheese and a roasted hatch chile. Pork roll is available pre-sliced in a red box, 8 thin or 4 thick slices. In New York they usually do not scramble the egg, just break the yolk.

That should be "New Jersey" style...Taylor pork roll is an invention of Trenton New Jersey...that's the red box you talk of... Case is another great brand!

The #1 from the Plaza Deli around the corner from my apartment in Lower Manhattan: fried egg, ham and swiss on a toasted croissant.  Paired up with a helping of home fries, liberally doused with Frank's Red Hot sauce and some ketchup.  My go-to weekday breakfast.

My weekend special?  Canadian bacon, over easy egg and Swiss on and everything bagel from Leo's Bagels in the Financial District.  So messy and so good!

I don't often have a breakfast sandwich, but every so often I will get a sausage, egg and cheese on wheat toast at the Waffle House. I do miss being able to get an egg and cheese on a hard roll, though.

Having worked in Manhattan in the 70's, I can still taste those wonderful "Egg on a Roll's".
Would stop on my walk from the Port Authority Bus Terminal to my office on 50th & Broadway almost every AM to get one. Along with a coffee in one of those Blue "Greek Design" paper cups.
