Is anyone who remembers the classic Archie comics watching the new CW series Riverdale?

FINALLY!!!

On The Curse of Oak Island (History Channel, Tuesday 2/21) it looks like they've actually discovered something deep underground other than hand-hewn wood that carbon dates to the 1650's.

I hope the 8 ton hammer-grab doesn't come up with fragments of 4,000 year old acacia wood and bits of stone!

Of course!  It's the season finale.  Need something to bring you back.

I don't watch it because I want to.  (FRAUD!)

Whatever they discovered, they discovered during last summer when the weather permitted exploration.  Over the fall they edit the season's filming to divide it into episodes to be shown in the winter.  So, of course, they are going to save the most dramatic for "last".

Sure enough, I "Googled" the fraud angle and there is quite a lot of "material" in that regard.

That said, as a kid I did read the 'famous' Reader's Digest article and it fascinated me, though not quite as much as the show's 'stars'.

At this point I'd say the only 'fraud' may be on the part of the folks who, circa 1650, buried hand hewn oak timbers at a depth of 190' beneath a tiny uninhabited island in the hope of pulling an elaborate hoax on whomever would have the technology and will to dig it out nearly four centuries later.

Yes, I know the History Channel broadcasts the 'scripted reality' Pawn Stars and the literally fantastic Ancient Aliens, but this show actually does seem "real" to me (at least).

Timeless could have ended with the season's final show, but rather they chose to broadcast a surprise cliff hanger ending, for a show that most commenters expect to be a non renew. If the last 3 or 4 minutes had been written with respect for the audience , the show could have ended on a high note, with a satisfying ending. I have read and heard that new series have a hard time getting started because so many are left as orphans, leaving the audience high and dry, so the audience never starts watching in the first place.

The decision to renew, is, as it should be, based on profitability, but IMO a decision to do a cliffhanger ending, for a series that is all but dead, disrespects viewers.

You mean we'll never figure out what "Rittenhouse" is all about!
Or even if it's 'Rittenhouse' or 'Rittenhaus'!
So, the whole show was just one shaggy dog farce.

Aside from Justified, the most entertaining show of the past several years was HBO's The Brink.
The 'first season' ended with a great cliffhanger, but it never was renewed.
I hope that terrorist put the 'broken arrow' under HBO's HQ!

My goodness, YouTube has everything:

When I was 4 it was my favorite show!

I watched it on Pittsburgh's WDTV, Channel 2, DuMont Broadcasting, then Pittsburgh's only channel.  It ran shows from all the networks until they each got their own stations.
