After losing interest at the beginning of season 2 I've tuned back in to The Leftovers as the seventh anniversary of the "disappearances" (the Rapture).

The weirdness is fascinating as Judgement Day approaches.  They must have something really "special" planned as, in the most recent episode, a nuke launched from a missal sub was just noted in passing.

The Leftovers ended, mocking its viewers.

What began with the Rapture ended with the biggest rip-off thud since Dallas' "it was all a dream season'.

And here I thought 'shaggy dog' stories were over in the '60's.

Wrong!

What a freaking waste of time!

I'm now watching season 3 of Bloodline.  It was slow getting in to it but it sure holds my attention now.

I was going to 'B.S.' you by noting that the "missal sub" was from France and that the French word for missile is missal.  But, as you wife would have told you, it is 'missile" in both English and French.

The fact of the matter is that I have macular degeneration, a condition I have had for 12 years.  A short while back my vision 'went south' to the point where I was unable either to read or type with any precision.  Evidently I mistyped 'missile' and erroneously clicked on 'missal' rather than 'missile' as Spell-check's correction.  The good news is that my retinal specialist changed the drug he uses for my periodic intraocular injection and my ability both to read and type is slowly returning.

BTW: your guess as to my upbringing was a good one, but both my parents were Presbyterian, as am I.

I'm sorry to learn that you got stuck with macular degeneration, but I'm glad to know that things are improving. As to that French sub, it would have been a great try. But even I know that missile in French is missile.

Season three of Fargo ended.
And, damn, I want more Fargo!
Ordinarily I detest indeterminate endings, but that one was perfect.
For those not familiar with the series, each season is unique - new characters, new story-lines.
Each season so far has really been a 'gem', well worth 'checking out'.
BTW, IMHO each season has had a more engrossing story-line than the acclaimed movie.

Watching a few DVR'ed series from last season. Just finished up "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Gotham" and are working on "Supergirl". Watched "Dark Matter" season premier last night. Glad to see it return. Really good space opera.

NBC's "Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly" has been an interesting watch with the 'best stuff' being the filler stories behind Ms. Kelly's interviews with Putin, Erin Andrews, and some deeply troubled pod-caster out of Austin.

I refer in particular to the features on gene editing technology and an expose of an outrageous insurance scam involving substance abuse 'rehab'.   Both these stories reminded me of what 60 Minutes 'used to be'.

Finally got the last few episodes of Hannibal on Blu-Ray and the wife and I started watching them last night. Great stuff! So well written and acted. Also binge watched all 6 episodes of The Tick on Amazon Prime this afternoon. It was a good watch and very amusing.

My absolute favorite TV series. I've watched every episode. Cannot wait until January 2018 for the the next season.
Porn aside, the acting and story are great. Love "Frank"! What a jerk!
Emmy Rossum is fantastic as the eldest child who does her best to keep all of her siblings sane (impossible). She also has a great singing voice (off the show).

The Last Ship is back on.  I think I missed a season though as we spent most of last summer in Europe.  Looks like I need to subscribe to Netflix.

The CBS series "Salvation" is entertaining summer fare.  This is the first major network series I've watched in quite a while.  Is it my imagination, or have they really cut down on commercials?  In any case, the show's lady President is having a health crisis at exactly the wrong time.

Definitely a well done show with great story lines for every character.  I could have done well never seeing Nurse Jackie naked!  William Macy is incredible.  Is it bad that somewhere in my mind he reminds me of someone?  Thankfully I can't remember who.  Probably blocked it.  So smart and so tragic.  I love it!

Adding... every actor in Shameless is superb.  Love seeing the youngsters age while binge watching.  Almost to season 5 and will be sad when I reach the end of seven.

Also really enjoyed Wentworth.  Tell me more to watch!  Please!  I haven't seen the sunlight in days!
