What are your very favorite steakhouse's?

My top three are:

Peter Lugers

Berns in Tampa Fla

The Prime Rib in Baltimore

They all have a  different atmosphere  but the food in each one is terrific.  The best buy is Bern Steakhouse as price of steak includes everything, plus their dessert rooms are unique!  I love the "old New York" atmosphere at Peter Luger. The  elegant "50's" atmosphere here makes for a grand dining experience

I actually like Ruby's here in Cincinnati better than Lugers in Brooklyn, but thats no slam on Lugers, and I am glad I was able to go there once

My second favorite after Ruby's is Le Cellier in Epcot.

    Then Lugers

Mrs. C and I haven't been there for probably 25 years.  Perhaps a return is in order.

Now that I think about it I've been to very few actual steakhouses in my life.  The only recent visit I can recall was at the start of this year to Eric's Porter Haus in Waukesha, and the prime NY strip I had was excellent.

I used to answer The Watering Hole in Sebring, Florida ... I'm not sure they have kept up the quality through their changes in the last few years.

We're just planning a cross country trip to New Mexico in the Fall of 2018. I haven't figured out the route yet but we will definitely take two different routes heading in and returning. The trip will probably last about 3 weeks

The prime rib at The Prime Rib is excellent but the best I've had is at Kreis' Steakhouse in St.Louis.

I agree with Peter Lugers in Brooklyn. It has a feel of coming home just walking through the door. Good bread basket also. My other choice is the Metropolitan Grill in Seattle, after a Seahawks game is a nice finish to a nice day........

That sounds like a great trip!  If you can, you might want to hit as much as Old U.S. 66 as possible.  It is no longer continuous.   Much of it has been absorbed into I-40, but where it exists, the western part of it roughly parallels I-40 from Oklahoma City westward.   When you get off I-40 at the towns, the main street running through town is often U.S. 66.   Lots of history.   Tucumcari in eastern NM had a lot of preserved buildings, and old classic neon signs if you're into that sort of thing.

    Is yours on this list?
    http://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddrink/restaurantsandnews/americas-50-best-steakhouses-for-2016/ss-AAldiSs

Excellent list, probably the best I have ever seen.

My favorite was not included, but this list has more to do with the vittles than any 'extreme good fortune' one might experience after the meal.
