Anybody celebrating Mother's Day with some delicious marmot kidneys?

The kids are coming over later so we're having pulled pork and pasta salad.  Nothing fancy, but it's what Mrs. C wanted.  Although I first suggested a nice ribeye roast in hopes that I could start outside the box and get her to OK a somewhat less expensive brisket...no such luck.

My wife chose to go out to Bonefish Grill for Mother's Day. It's a chain, but a favorite of hers...and ours is super. Lobster Tails for her...and pecan encrusted rainbow trout with artichoke hearts and a light pesto sauce>

Greek Spinach pie (spanakopita)  and  Greek Cheese Pie (Tiropita) hot out of the oven.  My Greek heritage is certainly delicious and I enjoy making these dishes that remind me of my Mom and my Yiaya (Grandmother)

That looks amazing. Love spinach. Italians have a stuffed Spinach pizza my mom made at Easter time during Lent. But the Greek version is light, flakey and amazing. Love it!

Love spankers! The last restaurant I worked in made them every day, and our dinner guests ate them like candy. So did the staff, when end of day came and there were leftovers. I love a well made spanakopita and those pans look delicious!

I'm not very familiar with either pie, but I do know that "Love Spankers" is a great name for a band.

Since we have pasta salad left from yesterday and Monday is usually a pretty simple night, later on I'll be firing up the grill for some Klement's hot dogs on the best poppyseed buns around.

WOW!  Those look wonderful.  I'd just need a fork and a napkin.

Don't know if I'll eat tonight.  Didn't yesterday, either.

I've been sick since getting my second dose of Shingrix vaccine last Monday.  100+ temp at night and 99s during the day.  I'm miserable.

OMG... it's been forever since I had homemade spanakopita, and that looks fantastic! Now I simply must get to the Mediterranean restaurant sooner rather than later.

Tonight I did honey-garlic chicken, Caprese tossed salad, and the first appearance of fruit crack for the year! (creamy grape salad, for the uninitiated)

I got sick from those shots too! I don't envy you but the alternative sucks way worse. My dad had a really bad case years ago and the pain near his hairline never went completely away. Hope you feel better!

I couldn't for the life of me remember if it was you or someone else (and no way was I digging back that far through this thread. Thanks for the reminder! And tell your niece thank you... it's what everyone calls it now.

Tonight I went old school comfort food, hoping Mom would snap out of whatever trap her brain has made for her the last week or so. Didn't work, but at least I had comfort food.

Thanks, Joy. This one was particularly bad. I went to urgent care yesterday and was told that because the vaccine tries to build up s resistance in the entire body it opens it up to other illnesses you didn’t even know you were harboring. In my case it’s upper respiratory and what got me to leave the house... inflamed ear drum. What awful pain and I can’t take pain meds.

So I had an Egg McMuffin for dinner and I can’t describe how delicious it was.

Did get eye drops for... $75.10!!! I asked them how much they were without insurance... $400!

There is a problem. Don’t know if I’ll eat dinner tonight. No strength Just hot tea and honey in bed.

Feel better soon, Mar! Ear pain is second only to tooth pain for nastiness.

This started as a recipe for rice noodles with chicken sausage. That is not remotely what I made, but it was way tasty.

Yikes! I just finally got on my Dr's waiting list for it. I usually don't have any adverse reactions to vaccines, but I'll keep it in mind. I definitely don't want shingles, (although I may have had a very mild case last year on my face). Hope you get to feeling better soon! I hate earaches and I feel for ya!

OK. My curiosity is piqued. What's Taco Soup? Is it like Tortilla Soup?

Today was not so fancy. I quick ran next door to Lucky Luciano's for a couple of slices. I'll eat leftover Chinese when I get home.
