Had green chili cheeseburgers (with Hatch chili's) and mini tater tots. I must say, I'm glad they've started making these mini tater tots. Crispy and a good size. Tasty, too.

The pork chop was wonderful, really wonderful. But look at that pie. I have never tasted a peach pie that could come close to this one. The crust was grand, but those peaches were magnificent.

That makes the from scratch peach pie that I made tonight look like a Hostess pie offering, but it tastes great!

The peach pie was amazing and it had nothing to do with my ability to make pie.  This is the first year in 3 that we've had a peach crop in Ohio.  The last two years the buds got totally destroyed by severe late spring frosts.  But with the warm winter, hot spring and summer, these peaches are DELICIOUS!!!  Juicy, sweet, OMG, probably the BEST peaches I have ever eaten!!

Tonight we had a really simple dinner of grilled bone-in, skin on chicken breasts with herb butter and of course, a Caprese salad.  Have to save room for peach pie!

Tell me about your herb butter.....

Super easy.  Soften some butter.......however much you think you'll need.  Chop some fresh herbs.  I used what I have in the garden.......basil, chives, thyme and rosemary.  For fish I add the juice of a wedge of lemon.  When I roast chicken breasts I have all kinds of good pan juices but since I was grilling the chicken I thought a little herb butter would be nice and it was!

We had falafel sandwiches-pita, hummus, chopped onion and tomato and a chili garlic sauce( hot!) And for me, some good old chopped liver. All from the Kosher Meat Club in Milwaukee. What a nice change!

Last night was whole-grain linguine with "doctor sauce", tonight will be spit-roasted pork back ribs marinated in garlic and wine, and tomorrow night will be brisket point barbecued over cherry wood.
