I could use that pork chop.  I had a scoop of marion berry and a scoop of brown sugar bourbon ice cream.... so far.

I have a followup appointment with my doctor tomorrow because my potassium level is high along with other numbers.

Sort of scared.

I'm back and I'm okay!

All of my kidney numbers settled back down to their normal high.  I was truly freaking!

I had Phat Thai to celebrate!

Oh, there's just so much temptation with an opening like Phat Thai. But I am strong.

What better way to celebrate than with good food?  Been a long time since I had good pad thai!

Tonight's dinner was Clamp's.

Catering between shows today: Cedar planked salmon with an orange glaze, steamed asparagus, baked potato bar, salad bar, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. And, wonder of wonders, in an all-Pepsi all the time building, there was Coke!

Felix, they do treat you well when they treat you well!

I picked up two California Pizza Kitchen pizzas and one salad to share with my friend, Karen.  $45 is outrageous but that's what she wanted.  It was okay.  A $10 pizza from Costco is better.

I tried California Pizza Kitchen several years ago when they opened a place here. I hated it. The crust was cracker-thin and hard as a rock.

They were learning.  They are better than that now but not by much.
Mr Flax (I forget his first name) was one of my customers when they were just beginning.  Guess he's sold it by now and now Mr. Flush.

I also knew the 2 guys who began Islands.  Tony and darn, I forget the other one's name.  They very first location was right next door to my brother's vacuum shop where I worked.  Tony's partner wanted to be bought out before it was finished.  That was a major mistake!  Now they're everywhere.

Just looked it up.  They didn't give the partner any credit but there was a picture of the original location:

George's was my brother's and I worked there in 1982.  Now I must send this picture to my brother!

Kenny!  I remembered the partner's name.  I bet he's still kicking himself!

Catering win today! WWE is in town, and they always take good care of us.

Lunch was sausage-vegetable soup with rice, creamy cheese tortellini, grilled peppered ahi with mango glaze, mixed greens salad with pomegranate and vinagrette, and excellent chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Oh, and they had a charcuterie board to die for, although I refrained and only took a couple of things.

Dinner was bread pork cutlets with white pepper gravy, steak quesadillas with fresh-made guacamole, more of the same salad. I also grabbed some cottage cheese and a bit of tuna salad. Desserts were plentiful, but I got a slice of lemon bundt cake, a chocolate macaron, and some kind of nutty chocolate crescent cookie.

Pictures are crap because I had to eat in the control booth under bad lighting.

No catering today, but we got to order from New York Fried Chicken. I got the Combo #15 (chicken sticks with fries). I've been hearing fabulous things about the place, but I have to say... meh. The fries were probably good when they were hot, but by the time the food got to us they were lukewarm and either so mushy they felt wet or so dry they snapped like twigs. The chicken was overcooked, like maybe they forgot it was in the deep fryer for an additional 5 minutes. Their BBQ and ranch sauces, however, are fantastic!

Didn't get a picture, I was eating essentially in the dark, with the only light provided by what leaked into the booth window from the house.

What's for dinner ??
This is the question which shakes me everyday.
I just browse through some of the indian food recipe websites and search any dinner food recipe which is not new to my kids.
Now i do it often.
Today will be cooking Sindhi sai bhaji and give them a perfect sindhi vegetable dish.

Today marks my first of several days off, and I cooked! Citrus-marinated salmon, Cajun coleslaw, and a tomato, cucumber, and onion salad. The coleslaw was a recipe I've been wanting to try, but I'd have been better off skipping it. Live and learn!

Enjoy all of your days off, Felix!

I went back to LA Jerk Shack and bought more Jerk Wings, peas and rice.  I would have ordered larger chicken pieces if they had them.  All they serve is the wings and diced beef and tiny shrimp either in a burrito of as a bowl on top of the rice.  The wings are terrific but I've now had them 3 times in a short period of time so I think I can go back to my ramen!

I didn't have dinner per se but rather a late lunch on the way home from St. Louis, augmented with potato chips and cold bacon when I got home.

The Champs Chicken chicken tenders from the Jack Flash Phillips 66 in Farmersville, IL were surprisingly good.

I had a few leftover White Castles, and a Hebrew National Jumbo hotdog on a potato bun with Bertman's Ball Park mustard, chopped onions and Tony Packo's hot dog sauce.
