The squash was great.  We got it at a nearby farm.

I love butternut squash!  Don't get it often enough. I like to steam it, then mash with butter and S&P

Someday I'm going to remember to order some chilies when I have the money to do it. Those look amazing!

It's 98 degrees at the end of September and we don't have A/C. I made a tomato and feta salad, a three bean salad, and did some feta and cream cheese stuffed chicken rolls on the stove instead of baking like I normally do. Still too much heat in the kitchen!

For the Hatch chiles I order them fresh from a place called The Hatch Chile Store (on the internet).  They arrive whole and fresh.  I roast them whole outside on the grill, put them in a bag, then peel them, seed them and freeze in packages.......each pkg. is enough for 2 burgers.  If you have questions about this, contact me!

Thanks, Lisa! I've got it bookmarked, but sadly it won't be in my budget for quite a while until I figure out what I can do for work.

Felix, I hope you find something easy and deserving of you and your talents.

I didn't have pintos.  :(  This needed pintos.  Limas did not work.

I'm really liking the tiny tortillas that our market now has.  Ate them with minced onions and three different hot sauces last night.

Had to grill...with our 90 degree 1st day of fall heat.  Bought, trimmed and cubed a Sirloin tip, which my Wife marinated for 3 days in a red wine/ garlic concoction. Served w/ her rice pilaf. Excellent.

Mar, it's a Le Creuset braiser with lid.  I have the same thing, same color.  They're awesome.....put it on the range or in the oven.

True on both!  I usually put it directly on the table and everyone serves themselves out of it.  I think the size I have is around $300.  It was my Mother's so it must be about 30 years old.

Still cleaning out the freezer.  After spending what I considered a small fortune on a new ice maker it still does not make ice. I'm sure I didn't need the new ice maker and it's something entirely different but I'm stuck with it.

I kept my "cool" when I called back today and they were nice.  Phew!  Next visit will be Thursday.  Whoopee!

So tonight was butterflied pork chops, pounded and Panko'ed.

We had a roasted whole pork tenderloin, gravy and baked potatoes.  For dessert I'm having a bowl of fresh strawberries and blueberries topped with a little whipped cream.  An easy meal but it was really good on another very hot day (in the 90s!).

Too hot to cook, too hungry to go without. I broiled a couple of pork chops and served leftover salads. And then I remembered my Southern training, and have just gotten done making stuff for tomorrow, which should only need to be reheated briefly on the stove come dinner time!
