Daughter made San Marzano Marinara w/ lots O' Garlic, Zucchini, Mushrooms, Fresh Herbs, and Sausage Meatballs. What a fresh taste when it's homemade. BTW, the Pasta Bowl is 20 inches.

Wow! That is a lot of meatballs for one guy to eat!

I just finished prepping a Romanian garlic skirt steak and it's resting in the fridge.  After a couple of hours it'll head for the grill.

An Autumn lunch ala Bon Appetit. We had to make these after looking at the slideshow.

Short Rib Pot Pie (we used stew meat).

Salted-Butter Apple Galette with Maple Whipped Cream.

Each was excellent. Two down, 58 to go.

Short Rib Pot Pie (we used stew meat).

That's a good-looking recipe.  You guys use store-bought pie crusts, right?

Those both look fantastic! I don't even like cooked apples and I want some of that.

I was in the kitchen all day making stuff for my nephew's birthday party tomorrow, but somewhere in there I also made BBQ ranch chicken and broccoli salad. Served with the last of the creamy bean and un-potato salads.

WOW to all above!  I've been sick with a cold so tonight's dinner was a sandwich.

Fried egg and bologna with Blue Plate Mayonnaise.  I really think I like the sandwiches just for the Blue Plate.

I have a pound of Gulf shrimp, 16-20s, fresh, never frozen so I think I'll do a simple scampi and linguine with a tossed salad.

Today was my nephew's 18th birthday party, making it his last one with the extended family. My sister did hard and soft shell taco bar with either ground beef or shredded chicken and all the assorted toppings including her fabulous guacamole. I made a layered cornbread salad (cornbread, black beans, tomatoes, green pepper, bacon, green onion, cheese, ranch dressing), another sister made deviled eggs, and my third sister bought a bunch of fruit. And my brother-in-law stole the show by having actual honest to god, made with sugar, Faygo sodas!

I have never been more grateful that the guy's time with his original show came to an end, and he moved to a different one which does not perform two shows a night. As a result of his employment change, I was talking to him at home when the shooting started instead of him being at work right next door! That said, this one strikes a lot too close to home for me.

Trying for normalcy... I made cheater 20-minute spaghetti, served with leftover broccoli salad and leftover Mexican cornbread salad.

Oh yeah, forgot I took myself to Anna's House (the original location on Plainfield) this morning. Eggs Benedict, sausage links, and fried redskin potatoes with entirely too much coffee.

Good (and bad) fortune come in strange ways...

I like your second photo.  You eat entirely too many vegetables and needed a meal like that.

Last night I changed Lidia Bastianich's tomato-braised cauliflower from a side dish into an entrée by browning Italian sausage links first and then adding them back to the pot when I put the tomatoes in.  I also used a small can of tomato sauce for additional liquid, and a few fresh basil leaves because my plant's doing very well and I like basil.

Chef, Scampi looks great...used the same Shrimp (Gulf 16-20's) ironically for steam spiced w/ slaw and corn. Needed that Chesapeake Bay thing.

Ha! I like vegetables. They're cheap, easy, and tasty.

Tonight I was in the mood for soup and had a bag of potatoes that needed to be used. However, I didn't have the correct type to make potato soup, so I improvised and blended them, then added a bunch of cheese. And beer. And some other stuff. Ended up with something that reminded me of the cheese soup I used to get a local restaurant long gone now, and I wonder if they used to blend potatoes for theirs, too.

My Potato soup is cooling and calling my name as I type this. I also made a large pot of chili and froze most of it for when I can't figure what we want for dinner. I love the cooler weather.

I am getting sick of having my Greek meat sauce over spaghetti, so National Taco Day to the rescue. Tonight I had 5-way Greek meat sauce tacos. They are magnificent.

Thanks!  I guess after watching enough cooking shows over the years some of what I've seen has finally sunk in!  EDIT: I just remembered that the idea to add the sausage comes from an episode of Nick Stellino's current series.

Felix, that's some good-looking soup.  Did you use Worcestershire sauce as one of your ingredients?  IMO a little bit can really make a difference.

Yesterday I took a pint bottle of Kraft Robust Italian dressing, stirred in a packet of Good Seasons Zesty Italian mix, added more red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper and poured the mixture over some bone-in chicken thighs.  They've been marinating for about 24 hours and will be tonight's dinner along with mushrooms, cauliflower, and bread.

SC - Yes, Worcestershire. Two tablespoons in the pot. It definitely adds something unquantifiable but necessary.

Today I tried to go back to work for real, and while I made it the entire 7 hours (thank all that holy we didn't go the scheduled 10!), I am beyond exhausted. So I stopped at Checkers and brought home bacon cheeseburgers and fries. Whatever.
