There is very little moderator activity on these forums anymore, Gerg, so I doubt you will get banned

I dont blame the mods - they arent (and were never) compensated for their work, and the new ownership provides little to no support, including but not limited to adding new volunteer mods to replace volunteer mods who have departed or died (RIP, Mr Mayor)

All that said, I hope the regular posters on this thread get back to posting about their meals, soon; and Royal, since your post kinda sorta started this kerfluffle, maybe you could explain why Thai food is the food eaten in Amsterdam, which is to the best of my knowledge not a location in Thailand.

I'm with Lee.  Having enjoyed so much of this site for so long, I can't help but chime in.  From the needy "bumps" to the incessant self-inflation within a medium that is essentially and simply about posting pictures of food and where it was procured, it's pretty clear that he is a sad and petty fellow.

A meaningless post from a  long banned "nothing" poster with multiple screen names....
I have a wonderful life.
I pity yours...

Last time I checked this was the "What's for DINNER....???" thread.  Could we please stick to that topic?

Lets talk Thanksgiving dinner!  We are having a real crowd, which I love.
Our menu is:  Appetizers of sausage balls with plum sauce, vegetable platter, and small crabcakes

Dinner will be:
Turkey, sage stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes
corn pudding  a great new green bean dish  (which took forever to put together) sweet potato casserole, mashed rutabagas
Cranberry Fluff, cranberry orange sauce, and that good old standby.....cranberry jelly  out of the can!
Homemade crescent rolls with European butter

Desserts will be  apple pie, pumpkin pie, maple cream pie and pecan pie (my daughter in law made 10 pies today)
Beverages will be  cider, 3 kinds of hard cider and wine.

I am so sick of looking at food but having 4 overnight guest who will be having dinner with us sthis evening

Gerg, this is not a community that likes disruption between its members.  Please respect all of us.  Discussion is welcomed!  Criticizing another member in front of all of us is NOT.

We are having one deep fried turkey and one smoked turkey tomorrow. We will have fresh corn , green beans , mashed potatoes from HEAVEN and asparagus casserole. All veggies are from Joe Hubers Farm along with a couple pies and some Huber Wine!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Karl
Also a country ham and a Honey Baked ham.

I'm just guessing here Uncle Groucho, but it sounds as if you're going to have a few people helping you celebrate Thanksgiving.

Yes , 10 or 12. Everyone is on a diet but 4 of us. I will have Thanksgiving dinner 3 times with the left overs. I can hardly wait!

Re:What's For Dinner TONIGHT...??? 2017/11/23 01:04:59 (permalink)
I'm working wonky hours this week so I can never decide if dinner is what I eat at 3pm or 1am. Tomorrow (Thanksgiving), however, it'll be the 3pm meal. I had to cheat a lot instead of doing any kind of real cooking this year because of the show, but so be it. Didn't even occur to me I could've told mom it was next week and she'd have never known! If you're gonna be an Alzheimer's caregiver, you've gotta take the perks where you can find them.

I'm doing apricot-glazed ham steaks, twice-baked sweet potatoes (mixed with dried cranberries, cranberry relish, and walnuts), a baby spinach and butter lettuce salad (topped with grape tomatoes, red onion, bacon, pine nuts, dried cranberries, and dressed with a red wine vinaigrette), sweet & sour red cabbage, cranberry relish, Grands southern-style biscuits, and for dessert a clove-molasses cake drizzled with chocolate-molasses glaze. And then I go do a show.

A special Thanksgiving w/  my Wife and Daughter. Plume de Veau Veal Parmesan....Field greens Salad....Very Garlic bread made w/ crusty demi baguettes...various Cheeses and Summer sausage to start. Special because I have had NO carbs for over a month. We always have something unique for Thanksgiving because none of us care for Turkey.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.

YUM! I love that Ramen. I get basically the same Tonkatsu Ramen bowl here in Dallas.
Addictive!

Could be the same place, since Kizuki is a chain operation. For chain ramen they do a really good job and they don't skimp on the quality.

It's raining and technically not cold but it's cold in my house so it might as well be, plus I had some vegetables left from Thanksgiving and no idea what to do with them, so... Tuscan vegetable soup.

Re:What's For Dinner TONIGHT...??? 2017/11/29 20:55:46 (permalink)
I've been away.  My life sucks.  I haven't felt like posting not that it matters.

Dieting isn't the problem.  I think we're all friends here but ignore me if this isn't appropriate.  I just need to talk and this is the thread I post most in.

Six weeks ago I found out that my baby, Daisy had lymphoma.  She lasted only 3 weeks.  All of her lymph nodes were swollen and her underside was dark red from broken platelets.  But she didn't hurt.  She was still herself.  While not in pain she didn't want to eat.  I made all of the things she was never allowed to eat.  I hand fed her.  When she wouldn't eat anything I knew it was time.  Hardest choice I've ever had to make.  But my Molly helped me grieve.

Sunday Molly wouldn't eat so Monday I took her to the vet.  She never came home.  She had a heart attack at the vet's.  Three weeks and three days and I lost them both.

I'm a total mess, crying all day.  I hurt so bad.  They were my babies.  My heart hurts.

To stay appropriate to the thread I didn't eat yesterday and just now had two fried eggs and a slice of low fat Jarlsberg Swiss Cheese.  I had to eat because I was getting dizzy.

Sorry
