Made a big pot of "Sunday Gravy/Sauce" yesterday so Rigatoni with meatballs, sausage, beef short ribs, country style pork ribs and salad and garlic bread were on the menu. No photos though but maybe when we have it again, I will remember to take a picture. So worth the time and effort. Cooked all day long, low and slow and tasted like "Nonna" made it (at least my best friend's Nonna since I am Greek and not Italian...LOL)

Tonight will be hot dogs and whatever else I feel like eating (I'm sure I'll skip the deep-fried crickets, but almost everything else is fair game) along with plenty of local craft beer since I'm going to a West Michigan Whitecaps game with my union local. Supposed to be an excellent game, and tonight is also their salute to the Grand Rapids Griffins night.

I have cooked! It's been darn near two weeks since I've had time to do more than toast a bagel and run out the door. Ended up having hot dogs and chili cheese fries at the game, by the way.

Smoky pork chops with tomatoes, pan-roasted peppers, and tomato & red onion salad.

As Charlie Brown once said, "A hot dog tastes better with a baseball game in front of it."

Grilled pork chops, frozen french fries from the toaster oven, and peas for us tonight.

I still have not managed to get Hatch chilies. Someday!

Tonight was baked frozen potato and cheese pierogies, three-herb potato salad (also made with three colours of potatoes), and creamy pea salad.

We baked a chicken pot pie we had frozen, purchased in Amish Country near Lancaster at Zooks Meat pies. They're the best Chicken Pot Pies I've ever tasted. My wife and I finished a whole pie (mostly me)!

I'm having vodka with cranberry soda and a pint of Ben & Jerry's Truffle Kerfuffle. This was not a good week.

I'm pretty ambivalent when it comes to cranberries and ice cream, but zucchini sucks so vodka wins.

Lemon chicken rigatoni, except the pasta I had was about twice as big as rigatoni... I have no idea what it was, I got it on clearance at the international market and the label is in Italian and it has no recognizable pasta names that I can find.

Filet Mignon with a shallot, mushroom and cognac sauce, spinach and Parmesan risotto and out of the photo, a salad of cucumbers, onions and garden tomato with balsamic vinaigrette that I made myself. Dinner was delicious! I love summer when you can cook on the grill...this entire meal was done outside on my Weber gas grill.
