Are those cannellini beans I see in the lemon-basil pasta?  Nice way to work in some protein.

They are! I wish I could take credit for it, but the recipe came from Better Homes & Gardens.

It's been way too long since I had red beans & rice. That'll have to make the menu soon!

Tonight we meant to go to a place that's starting to become a chain, but its original location is downtown (HopCat). But they had a 45-minute wait, so we ended up at BW3.

Yesterday I had tacos without realizing it was Natl. Taco Day...but they were for breakfast.  Dinner was grilled chicken thighs and broccoli.

lleechef  grilled porterhouse pork chops, topped with a butter made with herbs from her garden. With it she served butternut squash with brown sugar and maple syrup (thanks nagle and Jen).

I had pot roast tacos from the pot roast I made the night before.  Three tacos, three different sauces.  They could have used diced onions and a squeeze of lime.

They look great, but don't they need some fresh cilantro?

I was gifted a raisin challah a few days ago.  It's dry so it was either bread pudding or French Toast.  I started with French Toast!  The picture perfect butter pat melted while I was looking for my phone.

I love challah French toast! It was the one breakfast I made on vacation last summer.

Tonight I roasted a chicken rubbed with garlic and basted with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar. Served with creamed corn and some frozen vegetable blend.
