I had boxed chicken bone broth flavored with coconut and lime.  I added chicken.

It was hideous.

Good looking sub and that cod at Cunningham's up above stops me cold every time I scroll past it.

The pickle looks pretty decent, too.  I'll have to look at working Cunningham's into my Ohio trip itinerary for next year.

I ordered Domino's, because they were open. I didn't think it was possible for their pizza to be worse than it was 20 years ago, but I was wrong.

I still have a soft spot for Domino's because many a time they saved me from going hungry in college, but I haven't had their pizza in many years...maybe even 20 like you, Felix.  Don't think I'll be ordering one anytime soon, either.

I believe it.  Out of common courtesy I won't tell you about the skillet-seared strip steak I had last night.

Papa Murphy's jack-o-lantern pizza tonight!

I just got home from a bris.

I had...

egg salad, whitefish salad, chopped liver, olives, a slice of cheese, pickles and a couple slices of corned beef.

I didn't have the challah or bagels.  I didn't have any of what looked like a hundred different desserts.

I drank Pellagrino.

I was boring.

I had a Totino's frozen pizza (which cost me $1 and was worth at least twice what I paid for Domino's in comparison) and a pint (well, 14 oz.) of Haagen-Dazs. It was one of those days.

Thursday nite - Shakshuka.  MMMMMM!  Had enough of the sauce left over for another serving for lunch today.  I'll make a bigger pot of sauce next time.

Friday, after a long, grueling, tiring shopping trip where I was stocking up freezer, refrig and pantry, I picked up a ready made SW Grilled Chicken salad in the deli section - minus any grill marks on the chicken but with chipotle cheddar cheese, chipotle tortilla strips and chipotle ranch dressing.  May have been chipotle iceberg  and romaine lettuce and chipotle pico, also, for all I know.  Five 1 cup servings - I ate it all.  I like big salads for dinner, pretty much year round.

On my shopping trip yesterday I caught sight of a big box of Lay's Grilled cheese and tomato soup potato chips.  The interwebs says it's 'limited time only.'  I think I'll have to get back over there and try that.

I was thinking more ice cream and a great deal of vodka, but BayouCityNosh reminded me I bought a huge deli salad yesterday, so when I get home I'll eat that. Meat Lover's Cobb, I think.

And I'm giggling at all the chipotle!

Salmon from of all places, Walmart.  They were putting it out when I was looking at the pork products.  The grocer told me it's very good and very fresh.  What the Hell?  It was absolutely fabulous!

It came with pats of pesto butter and I just pan seared it and ate it with a big romaine salad.  The back piece was mine.  It was the big one!  It was a tad underdone for me but I suffered through it.

So many cuisines with similar spicy tomatoes and eggs dishes!  Around here there's huevos rancheros and heuvos Mexicanas, probably also Huevos al Diablo.  I don't get out much for breakfast and I don't know of any Italian places here open for breakfast.  I'll have to look for recipes.

Re:What's For Dinner TONIGHT...??? 2019/11/03 20:10:07 (permalink)
I fished some Pacific Rockfish out of the depths of the Kenmore, sauteed it, seasoned with kosher salt, Aleppo pepper, which I had out for the Shakshuka the other night, and white pepper, then made another spicy tomato sauce along side.  The fish looked so good on the plate, I didn't want to put the sauce right on top.

I had rinsed some basmati several times and it was soaking up some water but the fish and sauce came together much too fast so a plate of hot buttered basmati is probably in the offing later this evening.   Making enough to freeze or refrig several portions.

After topping the day's sales goal at the spice/tea store by $200 by myself in the first five hours we were open, I came home and collapsed. And then made spiral mac & cheese from a box.
