Wrappin it up...
  • Above is our spreadsheet for the day.
  • After NAG we lost Chuck & Danny. The rest of us stopped at Indulgence Chocolatiers. The smart ones got chocolates to go. Jim ordered ice cream.
  • We witnessed an unreal parallel parking demo on one of the side streets.
  • I never mentioned the Fine coffee served at North Avenue Grill. It's not some mass produced stuff from a can. They serve Valentine's Coffee - just $2.50 for a bottomless cup. Best deal in town.
  • We never hit Red Dot or Bel Air. CTD was not there to push us to our limits.
  • Jim decided that he and Bobbi need to pick up some Char Siu Chicken, Tater Tot Poutine and eat it at Camp Bar real soon.

Great job with the write-up, Jim.  I apologize for my photos being a bit blurry.  I forgot to turn on the close up photo function on my camera.  I will do better next time!

Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning and early afternoon.

At North Avenue Grill a side order of CBH can feed a third-world country for a week.

In hindsight, I simply should've stolen MFL's bacon.

Bacon bread toast.  Accept no substitutes.

I don't like the look of that "C".  Not a bit.

Do I spy an interloper at JRP's aft portside...or is that portside aft?

In reply to ScreamingChicken: The proper term is Ample Portside.

Nice photos Brad.

Random question here: Where did you get the Orange Beef, and what did you think of it? It's a dish that I really like, but it's hard to find really good versions of it.

I thought it was ok...I don't know if it was the cornstarch in the sauce or something in the batter, but there was something in there that left a "powdery" mouth feel for me.  The flavor was good, though.

Q - Orange beef is my fav too. This one was not as spicy as I prefer, but I gladly gobbled up the leftovers.

Quixote,

This is the Orange Beef at Mr. Wok in Pewaukee. We ordered it spicy and it is just the way we like. It's been a long time since we had it this good.

That looks delicious, in spite of the green stuff surrounding it. At its worst, Orange Beef is a goopy, sweet mess, but at its best, it has nice notes of ginger, orange peel, chile pepper, and other spices in a complex sauce that isn't too sweet. We went to Mr Wok a couple of years ago for their Indonesian food (delicious), but we didn't think about trying the Chinese food. It looks like a trip to Outer Pewaukee is in order before the snow flies. I have some errands to do in Brookfield one of these days, so maybe I'll get over there for lunch.

Mr. Wok?  Given the location I'd think that Mr. Wauk would be a more clever approach.

As long as they don't name it something like Pee-Wok-y, I'm good.

I am thinking of hosting Spreadsheet Classes this winter.  Not sure we will have a remedial class for this kind of stuff...I've seen better cocktail napkins!
